people asking for favors vent

my family is going upstate, NY for the weekend. my parents r taking there car, FH & I r taking our car & my sister is going with her boyfriend. (we are all leaving bklyn at different times depending on our schedules)

my sister just texts me asking if FH & I can bring our nephew back home on Monday.
a) i had no idea that my nephew was going (apparently my sister & her boyfriend r bringing him).
b) FH & I are not sure if we r going straight home or stopping to visit friends on the way home.

so when i tell my sister i have to speak with FH this afternoon & get back to her, she completely flipped on me.
so shes not really asking us a favor, she is telling us what to do. meanwhile when FH & I asked my sister if she could feed our cat when she gets home monday morning, she told us it would be an inconvenience.

sometimes i wish i was an only child.

PPL can be so annoying at times!!!! Just go about your plans as the way you were, if it won't be an inconvinence to you to bring your nephew home then bring him home, if you can't YOU CAN'T and that's it, at the end of the day it's not your responsibility!!!!

same thing happens to me all the time. when I was single ppl used to ask me to do gazillion favors for them, now that I am getting married same ppl are nowhere to be found. sux when these things are so one sided. that's why I usually prefer not to ask anyone for anything, and just handle everything on my own. way too much drama

what pisses me off most is that FH & I never ask for favors. we do everything on our own.
when we didn't have a car for two weeks we had to walk to the store everyday.
we constantly do stuff for my family, especially since we live in the apartment downstairs from them.

You just gotta put your foot down. I know it's hard because I go threw this all the time, but little by little I'm putting my foot down and not taking crap from anyone, because no one is ever around to do ME favors...we live with FH's Family...His sister owns a 2 family house and we rent the upstairs....

her boyfriends family lives in Jersey so they r stopping there on the way home. if i offered to take one of my brothers kids (nieces or nephew) for the weekend i would make sure i was bringing them back him. this is why FH & I didn't offer to take any of the kids with us.

What if you tell her you and FH have a tradition when you travel. Whenever you are on your way home, you pull over to the side of the road and do it. Tell her you don't think it is appropriate for your nephew to watch.

Ha Ha Ha. I'm just kidding. But if there are alot of other people taking cars, why can't one of them do it. Seems like your sis just wants a night of babysitting.

its not my sisters kid. its one of my brothers kids. (so its my brother who wants a weekend of babysitting)

i so understand...i have 3 sisters and a brother...when its sumthing they need done we better do it but when its somethin we need its to much trouble for em!

sounds like a page out of my life. I am always doing favors, and everyone else is too busy to wait in my comfy house with all the treats for a cable guy or delivery. They don't have to do anything... just wait....and get fed... and nope.

Okay I am a total idiot, but ya'll knew that.

I was going to chime in about people asking for FAVORS, like eparty FAVORS!! My FMIL was staking claim on those that were left on the table and continues to ask for extra favors.

What you are going through is much worse, but for a minute there I thought someone else was feeling my pain.
