One of my friends just sent me an IM that said 'I cant make it to your shower, I will be in Florida'
My response was 'Shhh...dont tell me, its a surprise'
Her response: 'oops sorry'
My response :'I have totally been trying to figure out when it is, but my MOH wants it to be a surprise, I respect that, so please dont tell me''
Her Response: 'Well I will at least tell you its between September 15th and September 29th'
What the heck...what part of dont tell me dont you understand....now I know it is either next weekend or the weekend after that! Sooo infuriating!

Update - so I told her that I was bummed that she narrowed it down to two weekends for me and I know which weekend it isnt because I am going away and have plans all weekend. I said I am totally bad at lying and my family will totally see through my fake surprise.
Her response: 'I am sure you would have found out anyway and you would have had to fake it'
My response......nothing......so mad!

OH that is sooooooooooooo rude.. I feel like ppl do things on purpose just to hurt or ruin a surprise. thats ridiculous!!!!

ughhh what is she thinking- sorry that that happened!
I kind of knew when mine was and there were still plenty of surprises at the shower & I had an amazing time- so dont be discouraged if you find out when it is.

Thanks ladies. I dont know what weekend it is yet...either the 20th or the 27th. Either way, I know there will still be surprises.....its just annoying that she would go that far after I explicitly said it was a SURPRISE!

i dont know, it kind of seemed like you were fishing for some info.....so cut your friend some slack - she didnt tell you exactly when it is but she did give you something - which it seemed like you wanted since you said you were trying so hard to figure it out.....if you really dont want to know anything i think its best not to say anything about it at all - i learned my lesson when it comes to talking about it

However my shower was supposed to be a surprise. And my mom accidently said to me 'I'll see you in two weeks.' So I knew when it was cus I knew she was making the trip for it. Well turns out it wasn't then. She slipped on purpose to throw me off. I didn't question it cus my mom is likly to slip on accident with these things. Maybe they are doing that to you....
