people going to disney

Original post by XFINALLYX

ok so as you know, i work at disney, and wanted to let you all know whats going on right now for the future brides that are going for their honeymoons as well as anyone thats just going on vacation.

Right now we're doing a brand new promotion (started oct. 1st) called Years of a million dreams. what they're doing, is fullfilling a million dreams. literally. the things they are doing is absolutely amazing. i'll write the official list in a minute, but they changed their parade (still havent seen it) at magic kingdom. so no more snowglobe looking parade, and no more cinderellabration.. instead they have a new show with mickey, Donald Duck and almost all of the characters! i believe the concept is that donald doesnt believe in dreams or something like that and he ends up having one and its fullfilled or something. sounds cute. the new Finding Nemo ride in the Living Seas (now called Nemo & Friends Seas) will be open I believe in November.. I'm seeing the Cast Preview on October 12th and I'm also an annual passholder (got that before i moved down) so that preview is October 13th so I'll be seeing that hopefully taking a picture and let you guys know how that is. I don't know the official date for the Finding Nemo Musical show in Animal Kingdom, but that should be done before the year is out. They say at the end of January 2007, the new Monsters Inc ride in Tomorrowland (where Timekeepers was) will be opening up. not exactly sure what the ride really is. but its the Laugh Factory Comedy Show and I know they're hiring cast members from adventurers club in pleasure island so im guessing its some sort of sketch comedy show made into a ride. sounds fun.

ok so here's the good stuff.. here's the list of what they're doing

yep california is doing stuff. it is included on that list like the california hotel i belive it said something about that.

definetely wear the mickey ears but more importantly, go to guest relations and tell them you're on your honeymoon and they'll give you these brand new buttons for it (they also made them for magical gatherings, aka a million people in one group, same t shirts, etc. i did that once, as well as anniversary, birthday and honeymooning. this is all part of the new celebration too. and the buttons are pretty!!) the buttons get you alot further than the hats. cause alot of people just wear the hats for the hell of it (which annoys me for some reason haha like the little girls that wear them. its special to honeymooners i think) i wore the anniversary button last trip (before i became a cast member) and got on space mountain in the front of the line instead of waiting an hour!, got free desserts, got a signed poster from cast members at rose & crown pub in epcot and they sang to us. you can get a bunch of free stuff..

MAKE SURE when making reservations to the hotel AND dinner, you mention you're on your honeymoon (or anniversary or birthday for that matter!) you might be able to get a free upgrade, or if you're lucky enough (doesnt always happen, usually happens in the deluxe resorts), they'll give you free stuff!! or amenities. i know for me, i work at the boardwalk doing room service, i send up amenities from the front desk and concierge all of the time for birthdays, anniversaries, etc and it might even be free liquor! we have champagne that we send up as well as chocolate truffles, wine, birthday cakes, etc. all for free!! and if its free its for me so definetely mention those things.

also we are told if we see those buttons to give you guys special attention and ask all of these questions so be prepared to answer questions all of the time but it'll get you a long way at disney world. sorry its so long. when i talk about disney i could go on forever

Thanks for the tips! I already have my Disney ears and hat (lucky for my FH... the hat is too big for his head... he's SO disappointed! lol). But I didn't know about the button! That's GREAT! I will DEFINITELY wear that EVERYWHERE! Thank you!

Re: people going to disney

im not really sure how likely that is but they might give you a discount. you just have to ask when you GET there. they'll say no on the phone but when you get there, i think they'll do it as long as its available. or at least to a room that has a better view!! i love the poly i cant wait to have a honeymoon weekend there and then go to jamaica!!
