PEOPLE HAVING FRIENDS DO CEREMONY...READ!!!!!!!!

i was talking to town of babylon today making sure FH birth certificate was okay

well everytime i ask them they gave me the same answer so im confidant that its true

anyways

they said if you are getting married anywhere in NY state..( except NYC city limits ) AS LONG AS THE OFFICIANT SECTION IS FILLED OUT CORRECTLY..THEY DO NOT CHECK ON THE OFFICIANTS CREDENTIALS AT ALL!!

the lady was being funny about it with me..shes like..if you want to fill it out it will be legal it does not matter at all..and i said about it coming back one day in court or something..she re assured me that as long as you and FH stand in front of witnesses and say vows and then sign the marriage license..THATS THE ONLY PART THAT 'LEGALLY' MATTERS..

so hearing i right from the clerk might change some of your minds about doing it

our ceremony is all done..were going to go through it tonight and time it..im excited!!!!!!!!!!!

let me know if you girls need to know anything about it i have researched this a million times over and im pretty sure i can answer any question about it..

I think it depends who is processing your marriage certificate...DH's sister got ordained on-line to marry us...and because her ordainment was NOT from a list of approved ones given at our marriage license place (Town of Southampton) we had to have the town clerk come perform part of our ceremony to make it all legal. (we found out his sister was not accepted when we applied for our license...like 30 days before the wedding!) Just make sure you check with whoever you are filing with to avoid any stress like we had! We had his sister perform the majority of the ceremony & the clerk did her little part and it was perfect. But just a heads up!
