People inviting themselves

Ugh... this is the reason why i didnt want to have a 'big' wedding.

FH's mom just informed me that we have to invite FBIL's landlady AND A GUEST also we have to invite FBIL's old old friend who they have not seen in years. These people just invited themselves and I cannot say anything. I told FH that I was annoyed and ***? He just kept saying I know I know, but we have to. I dont understand why we have to do anything, we're paying for this wedding and I DONT KNOW THESE PEOPLE!

Is it too late to call off the wedding?

I agree.... people are silly! my FMIL invited people that she's friends with and apparently has 4 lists.... and well it's a long story. But most of the people know my FH when he was about 5 and are coming to the wedding it's like this big show case and grand event and I just want it to be with people we are close to and family... but I don't have much say since the inlaws are paying - just as long as my FMIL is far from me on the wedding day (doubt that will happen) gah! she needs to get ready in another room instead of insisting that the bridal suite at the venue is this big girls soire bonding and getting ready room.... I so hate overly girly thing lol

I've even humored the though of having the valet have a guest list and as people come ask them for a name and if they aren't on the list inform the person/ people that this is a private event.... it's not too late for that one :)

That's nuts -- and she's plus one???????

Just tell them NO! End of story. The landlady, really? I thought it was bad that FH's aunt invited the real estate lady to her daughter's shower! Where do people come up with this stuff?

believe me, I feel your pain! FH's friend invited HIS mother-in-law!!! Me nor FH know this woman. My Aunt invited HER college roommate and husband, and then told us AFTER she invited them so we could send them an invitation

That's just totally NUTSSSSS!!!

These guest lists sometimes take on a life of their own.
