so we invited 260 people and maybe half are coming...10 people are not coming b/c a cousin of FMIL is getting married on a cruise the week of our wedding....which we announced LAST spring. hurtful thing #1...you don't plan a wedding the week of someone's else's (that you are related to) of the same year.
so now we are hosting our own RD....FH just told me that 2 GM are not coming..hurtful thing #2..and we spent over $1k to be in their weddings last year...but they can't make a FREE meal???? are you effin kidding me?????? we went to their rehearsals, paid for one of their bachelor parties, flew to NC for one of them (took time off from work) and we didn't do the whole 'i'm in your wedding so i'm giving you less $$$ bit...theyracked up on us)
i just feel like no one but me and FH cares about the whole day.....FMIL actually asked me if i would invite FSIL's (who i dislike strongly) friends so that we might be closer to the minimum!!! we did invite one of each FBIL's friends...but they are friends of FH...her friends are not....she agreed...thank goodness...otherwise the little b*tch(fsil) would've asked for like 5 more of her friends to come...ugh...
this whole week has been one hurtful thing after another.....

I'm sorry that you're going through this, but you already answered your own question...per se.
No one will EVER care as much about YOUR wedding except for YOU. People are busy, they have other things they have to be there for, or money can be an issue.
What's most important is that the people that truly love and care for you are there to share on the actual day.
For me personally, I'd rather have 10:100 people that really care of us be there than 90:100 people that are there out of 'obligation' or 'b/c you went to theirs'.

I am so sorry... wait. WHY can't the 2 Groomsmen show? My FH said that his BM said he can't come because there's some football game he wanted to go to that day. I looked at him deadpan and didn't even acknowledge the 'it better be a joke'. I can't even IMAGINE bridal party members backing out. What does your FH say? Why did they back out?! And WHO in your family planned a wedding for the same WEEK knowing your wedding was already BOOKED!?!?! W T F?!?!
I'm sorry... all that matters is the man that will be putting the ring on your finger that day and standing by your side for life. Just remember that. And if you have an liweddings table there, it will be the most fun table EVER!! (and, oh great founder, we're going to have a KICK A$$ time tomorrow night!! )

i'm sorry that you're feeling so badly. But if you're under your minimum, you might as well invite FSIL's friends. Otherwise its just $$$ wasted. you don't have to talk to them.

I'd rather die...you see, she tried to invite 3 friends to our e-party which was out of state! i stood my ground then and she got mad...um, it was OUR eparty...not her vacation! she would turn it into her get together at our expense....trust me, she would find a way.

i am so sorry you are having a bad week. I can relate, i hate when i feel like noone cares about my event meanwhile you go out of your way for everyone else's.
Also, that was very wrong of your family to schedule a wedding in the same week. I would be fuming! The nerve of some people!!
I am the kind of person that cant keep my anger to myself. If i were you i would want to hear a reasonable excuse why the 2 gm cant make it out to the rd. thats just me... Regardless,forget about the people that are not coming b/c the people that are coming are the ones that care. You want to surround yourself with great family.
