I am a treadmill runner, (I can't really run outside unless on a track because I problems with my knees)
I try to stick to a schedule, because I like to give myself a break over the weekends.

Re: People who run...
I used to run al the time but I also have knee problems (patella tendonitis). I know how you feel about running on the track! It helps if you run on the grass just inside of the track. It also helps to run on flat surfaces... downhill KILLS me! I only run about 1-2 times per week now. I do other activities a lot now like rollerblading which suprisingly doesn't affect my knee and walking at Sunken Meadow on the boardwalk. I can't do the treadmill though it is just not the same as running outside.
JULZ I have patella tendenoitis as well, I run daily with my patella strap it helps so much you should try it!

Re: People who run...
My DH runs on a set-schedule Mon-Fri every night after work. It helps him de-stress after work...
My running days vary, but I'm going to start sticking with a stricter schedule since signing up for a half-marathon this fall.
Right now I run 2-3 days a week, varying when I see my personal trainer for weights and when I can get to the ice rink for skating... I can't run and skate on the same day
I alternate on the treadmill and outside, we have a nice smooth paved path near our home.

I run 4-5 days a week but not on set days. However I never run on Fridays...I am usually too tired.

Re: People who run...
I'm on my treadmill everyday for at least a 1/2 hour. Thats really all I have time for but I get in about 2 1/2 miles a day. ETA: I'm not a fast runner.
