percent of declines for wedding

What is the average number of people who usually decline for a wedding? I heard twenty percent but that seems high. Thanks!

i've also heard between 15 and 20 percent.

I heard it can be as much as 25%....but you never know...for our wedding, we invited 195 people...and it looks like most might come!!

Because we had our wedding over a holiday weekend, we had a larger-than-usual amount of declines, over 40%! However, you should paln for about 15-20%.

you never know. We invied 260 and about 185 are coming. that was a lot of no's!

you need to take into consideration a few factors, mainly the number of guests you are inviting and how many are from out of town...

i have found that the percentage of no's increases the more people you invite and more OOT...

i am shooting to have 100-120 guests and will send out 150-170 invitations. about 1/2 of my guests will be OOT.

I think I am sending out for about 275 guests- hoping to get around 200....We'll see how it turns out.

so if you wanted to have 150 how many should you invite? - hardly any OOT.

We invited 170 and ended up with 115, but there are alot of out of towners in our families and it's a bad time of year to travel so we sort of expected a lot of no's.

well i have not gotten all of the responses back yet but we invited 216 and i think we are looking at about 160-170...

i have 311 on my list and right now we are down to 266 and if you do the math 249 would be 20% so i might have alot more the 20 % . i have 2 more weeks for my replys so i am not really sure what to exspect!

Don't plan on the no's. Although there will be some.... DH and I only wanted 120-130 guests MAX. We based our invite list thinking the 20%.... we only had 15 no's.... we had 160 guests! It was great, but more than we anticipated.
