Percussionist w/ the DJ ... Thoughts?

So my FH and I are meeting with the DJ we are booking tonight and one of the other DJ's we met with brought up the idea of having a percussionist play along with the music. I have seen people have them before in pictures but have never experienced one in person.

Please share any experiences, go or bad, that you have had or friends might have had with this.

Is it worth the extra money?

I think it makes a cool extra- gives you a little bit of live entertainment. However, if its not there, then I think your party will be just as fabulous.
