Our townhouse has pergo floors on the first floor and the previous owners had a cat and there were no scratches at all. It looked brand new to us and it was over a year old. HTH!

I want to say Pergo is good for when you have pets. My inlaws have it in their kitchen and they have 2 dogs and a cat. The dogs go nuts on it all the time and I think it still looks pretty good after a number of years.

I just spoke to the floor guy last night. He said the pergo is harder to scratch than regular wood. We are going with the regular for other reasons though. But thats definitely a good benefit of pergo.

We have Pergo and 3 dogs, NO SCRATCHES. We have been here for nearly 2 yrs now. The one thing though with Pergo, not to resistant to water. Adventually it can absorb water just like pressed wood does.... just some friendly advice.

Good luck!

We just installed it about a month ago (or less?) So far, no scratches.. I do notice that Gizmo slips and slides alot more on this type of floor.

we have wood and my friend has pergo with a BIG dog and kids. Her floor looks brand new no scratches. I love wood though and glad we have it, but if you like the look of pergo thats the way to go for longer no scratch floors!
