How can you get Pergo flooring repaired? We had a furniture delivery this weekend and the guy dropped the sleeper sofa and made two gashes. Macys will be responsible for the damage but we have to start getting estimates. Anyone have a recommendation? Has anyone had this done...can you just replace a section or do I have to get the entire floor done? I wrote Pergo as well but I am awaiting their response.

Re: Pergo Flooring
Niecey, I don't have any advice or experience with pergo, but I just wanted to say, I am so sorry that you have to deal with this BS! At least Macy's is taking full responsibility, tho!

Re: Pergo Flooring
Pergo comes in pieces so I would imagine you could just replace the few peices that got damaged, and maybe the ones around them so they fit properly?
I was just at the flooring store yesterday and you would have to replace the wood...you cannot refinish it...

Re: Pergo Flooring
Thanks girls.. I have to figure out the best way to get it repaired. Hopefully the Claims person from Macys will call me today and make me feel better about getting it fixed!
Claud - you don't want to get me started on Macys. Besides the Pergo, almost every piece of furniture had a problem. Huge water stain on couch cushion, tar on sleeper/sofa, hole in cushion on sleeper and the ottoman had all these lines running thru the fabric (fabric defect). So basically everything but the chair had an issue...then I ordered a rug a long time ago and everyytime I call, they tell me good news, it's in and should be rec'd to you in 3 weeks..and of course no rug. Macy's is now on my bad list. Now, I am in the hands of their Customer service Dept and let's see what happens. So far the people I have spoke to have been nice. I know quite a few people who ordered from them an dthey all had very good things to say...I just have really bad luck with stuff like this!

Re: Pergo Flooring
That stinks!! A friend of mine just had to refinish her hardwood floors because of a furntiure delivery! Pergo can be replaced in sections-but like tile there might be slight variations in the finish color between the old & the new. So depending on the age of the existing floor you might want to push for a complete new floor. Sorry you had to go through this- Good luck!

Re: Pergo Flooring
Thanks Richsbride! That is exactly what I was wondering - DH and I are concerned about it not matching. I just moved in the house so I don't know how old it is but I think it is less than 5 years because the previous owner only lived there for 5 years - so who knows. I have to find some experienced.
If anyone has installer recommendations, please let me know. I am not doing this myself - we have no time and not for something that isn't our fault!

Re: Pergo Flooring
No advice about the flooring either. But just wanted to say I hope things with Macy's get resolved quickly and painlessly.
