Perhaps the most ORIGINAL reason for a BM to back out of the BP **Updated further down, with pics of my former BM**
so let me give you some background. i lived in the south carolina for a few years, and during that time i had a roommate who became a great friend. he is gay, and used to do professional drag queen shows. but becase of family pressure, he hung up the heels and dresses.
so he was going to be in my BP as a 'Bridesman' standing in a tux, on my side with my MOH and female BM. well when i spoke to him on friday, he told me we had to talk, and told me to sit down. he then proceeds to tell me that he has decided to pursue his dream in winning a national drag pagaent, and that he will be getting plastic surgery for breast implants, liposuction, and butt implants!!!! he will also begin taking hormones to achieve more feminine qualities and grow his hair long, and maybe receive from lip, and cheek injections.
needless to say, it would be a little weird for him to be in a tuxedo while being in a sort of 'transition.' i just sat there with my mouth dropped to the floor and didn't know what to say. ultimately he told me that he wanted to step out of the BP for my own sake, and didnt want anyone to be 'uncomfortable'. i don't care what he does, as long as he's happy.
i just had to laugh in that i don't know of anyone who had a BM back out to become a full time drag queen!!!

yes he'll still be attending. but since there's a chance he'll still be 'recovering' by the time the wedding comes, he didn't want to be in the BP and take attention away from me.

Sad that he dropped out...but hey...at least he was honest.
Like...I guess you could be mad if it were over something trivial. But I guess its a dream like any other. And he's backing out to pursue his dream...mehh...can't be mad at the guy. But yup...that is a good one. And original!

Awhile ago, a gay friend of mine said to me that he wanted to come to my BP, so I asked him again if he really wanted to (because I SERIOUSLY would LOVE for him to be there with me), and HE IS!!! I am SO happy! He's a BLAST and SUCH a good friend... and I'm even planning on asking him to do a reading at our wedding... maybe even to wear a burgundy colored tie to match the bridal party as an honorary member. .

It kind of stinks that he backed out however, I think it is great that he wants to make the transition. That is such a HUGE and important step!!! You seem very understanding and you being there for him will make such a difference! Best of luck to both of you!
