Personal ?

Anyone else have an abnormal pap, but are HPV negative? I had a biopsy about a year ago, because I keep having abnormal paps. The next came back normal so I thought whatever it was finally went away. Now I have another abnormal one. I'm freaking out because usually HPV would cause something like this and then usually it goes away within like a year, but that's not the case for me. Now I'm freaking that I'm going to get cancer

This happened to my MOH- the dr said it has to be closely monitored and he made go for paps 2x a year for awhile. I know it can down the road lead to issues, but just keep on top of your appointments and tests. I'm sorry you are going through this!

I think this is more common then most girls realize. Don't stress until you Doctor tells you something to raise concern.

I wouldnt get too stressed over an abnormal pap lots of things besides HPV can make it come back as abnormal. Did you go around the time you get your period? Were you sick, getting sick or just getting over being sick? A yeast infection can cause it too.

I'm trying not to freak out because I did finally have a normal test, but it's hard not to. I know they can catch it really early if you keep going for the checkups but it's hard not to be nervous!!! Fingers crossed the next in 6 months will be okay!!
