Personal Attendant?

I read an article on UW about a personal attendant...is this the same thing as the MOH? I am only have my MOH and he is having his BM. We dont want to have to deal with 'Choosing' people for BM's and GM's and then other friends feeling 'left out' so we are just sticking the one and one on each side. Nice and simple. However, I have a very close friend who has been helping me plan and such and I would like to ask her to have a special role in my day. Can anyone suggest a role? I'd like her to be a Bridesmaid but cannot ask her - besides she'd appreciate the NON-financial responsibility she'd have as opposed to being a BM. This way she can be a part of my day and just be there as I want her to be and not feel obligated to do soooooo much...THANKS.

reading

I am having one of my friends do a reading at the church. We are not having a full mass but we will still have a few readings done. She said she would not really be comfortable in a BM dress (she is a bigger girl) but I still wanted her to have a special place in my wedding. I gave her the choice and she decided to do the reading.

THANK YOU...I thought of that, and that would be perfect but we are not getting married in a church, we are getting married at the reception hall and the ceremony is going to be all of 15-20 minutes.... Does anyone know what the personal attendant is?

Personal Attendant?

I thought a personal attendant is someone who is provided by your catering hall who makes sure that you have everything that you need/want.

Personal Attendant?

I thought a personal attendant was someone who helped you get ready the day of your wedding, as did July3bride. Why not just ask your friend to help you with your plans. Give her a card telling her how important she is to you and that you could really use her help during all of this. I am sure she will be very touched. And she can still do a reading without a mass. A reading can be a poem, it does not have to be from the Bible.

Personal Attendant? - I asked her...

Well since this friend has been involved in the planning and I dont want more than 1 person in my 'bridal party' -- I went and asked her today. She said yes she would love to and was so honored to be a part of the planning/my day. I found some articles on UW and other wedding sites that described the 'position' (LOL) but I can tone it down/up as I want. Its just a special way to include her in my day.

Another thought

You may want to take her for a nice 'spa day' or get her a small gift to thank her for all of her help after the wedding. I think it is really nice that you want to include her, while not hurting anyone else's feelings. I am sure she is honored.
