$1550 for a 3 BR in a 2 family house in Whitestone. We have the entire upstairs and it's pretty roomy. They originally wanted $1700 for it, but when the realtor told them about us (before we even knew about the apt.) they lowered it to $1550 because they liked what they heard about us. We're getting a great deal. We moved from a 1 BR in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn that we were paying $1460 for, but it had a washer/dryer in the apt., which was so worth it and a private parking lot, which was rare in Bkln).

I live in Jersey City too- I pay $1400 month - but this includes all utilities except phone, DSL & Cable. It's about 850 square feet- the entire floor of a brownstone.. I have a majorly HUGE kitchen (15 x 15) with marble counters & 2 sinks and a nice bathroom with mosaic tile and a double headed steam shower...

bad part- my living room & bedroom is one room... haven't found a way I like to separate it yet.

Re: personal question

I live in the upper Bronx.

I pay $950 for a large one bedroom apt. The building is well kept, The staff is always on top of that.

My bedroom and living room are large, kitchen/dining area somewhat small, same with bathroom.

It is very nice though. It will do for now.

We paid $975 for a huge two bedroom basement apt. Big kitchen, nice dining area, even the bathroom was big. It included everything except the phone bill.

If that sounds cheap, it's because the landlords were the noisiest people in the free world. And the most disrespectful. We stayed until we bought the house because it was so cheap.

Before I got engaged I lived with two roommates. In a 3 bedroom 2 bath in Kew Gardens Queens. GREAT neighborhood, bad parking. 15mins to NYC on LIRR or 30mins via the subway. It was nice having the option.

We had a riduclously large living room. Held three full size couches. A foyer, and closets spaced out through the house. I had the smaller bedroom (i had less stuff) but it had it's own closet. There was a hall way that connected the bedrooms and the bathrooms were spaced nicely apart. We were on the first floor. Paid total rent of $1120. We had a steal. My portion all bills included was $450

I just had MAJOR issues with the landlord and lack of service.

Now i live with my DH with his family and pay $250 to help out with the bills and taxes.

We pay $925 for a 1k sq foot, one bedroom in Huntington. We have a fireplace, use of yard, washer/dryer, attic & our own patio. Price includes utilities - except for phone.

With a 17 min commute to work, you can't beat that with a stick!

We pay $1300 for a one-family attached house with a backyard in Queens. The place has 3 bedrooms, but the kitchen is small. It's very comfy though.

we pay $1250 for a 2 bedroom garden apt in Queens, 2 floors, backyard, dining room, living room, 1 bathroom. includes heat and water. We tried to look for something back on LI but found the prices for a 2 bedroom to be much higher. so we opted to stay and re-sign our lease.

We pay $1664 for a 2-bedroom apartment in Forest Hills, Queens. We have a decent-size living room, separate dining room, and big kitchen. We are about 5 minutes away from 4 subway lines and the LIRR train station. We are so close to shopping and restaurants, but because of this, it is very noisy.

Re: personal question

We pay $1000 for a one-bedroom semi-basement, however, it is quite large. Our kitchen measures 20' x 20' and our living room and bedroom are a good size. We also have our own backyard. We live in a 3 family attached house in Bayside.
