Personal question RE: Finances POLL responses ONLY!!!
I know this is personal, but I have been having this discussion with my mother and am just curious as to what everyone else's thoughts/situations are. What do you anticipate having left in the bank after the wedding and honeymoon? (BEFORE putting money down on a house or anything like that.) Please don't respond if you feel uncomfortable - and just reply by poll, since I know this is a personal question . . . Thanks!!!!
PLEASE BUMP TO THE TOP ONCE IT IS AT THE BOTTOM!!!! THANK YOU!!!!

I know its a poll but I have no shame I know we will have nothing other then what we get from wedding gifts, and that is also being used for honeymoon spending money and some of it is being given back to my mom for lending to us for wedding...so my answer is ZERO left...oh well...

Isn't it all worth it, though????
But on the other hand when it comes to the rents it's like

I don't really understand the question. Do you mean off of one year's salary?
Any money spent on rings, wedding and honeymoon was money put aside over time and was never part of our true finances. It was a special savings.
But we also did everything for under 20,000 including rings, honeymoon to New Orleans - Cruise to the Caribbean, dress, hall and all our vendors for 150 people. (it's good to book last minute!)
I think this may be a hard one for people to answer since everyone spent different amounts.
Plus some people got insane wedding gifts which helped. Our gifts were only in the less then 10,000 range

It's a tough question to answer because it's really hard to estimate wat kind of gift money you will or won't have. We won't be using gift money to pay for the wedding at all though so what's left is left when all is said and done.

This is in regards to what everybody will have left in savings all together once the wedding is over. I just wanted a general idea of what people THINK they will have left in savings once the wedding is all over- NOT what they will have left from their wedding money . . .

About 7,000 in savings 10,000 in IRA
not including gift money.
We were only 23 when we got married so that was the best we could do.
But it really didn't make a difference because in our first year and 1/2 we were able to buy a new truck and buy a new construction home.
We built ourselves up alot once the wedding was over.

Thanks for being so open and honest! I didn't really expect people to post out right, since finances are personal to many! That was really cool of you 070502!!!!!

If anything we'll probably have about $3,000 left but it's OK, we own our home already, we both have our cars.. then we just need to have babies

Im thinking WOW, everyone is much better off then me...lol....unfortunatly we have a lot of debt but since we are almost 30 we didnt want to put the wedding off...we will start at basics when the wedding is over ( besides some retirement accnts) and save for a house/kids.....

We dont have any savings....we live paycheck to paycheck. So the answer is $0.

FH lives more week to week than I do, but I doubt that I'll have more than $2000 in my bank account. I'm hoping to have at least that.

We will have about 60K not including any gifts we may get. We have been saving very aggressively for 2 years now though.

Re: Personal question RE: Finances POLL responses ONLY!!!
My answer was on the lower end, but that's because we already bought our condo...
since that wasn't an option, I just wanted to throw it out there

WOW Julz. That is very impressive especially knowing that you are paying for your wedding yourselves.
You and you FH make a great, financially sound team!

In savings we have about 10K left. In his CDS we have like 13K so call it 23K. Which I dont think is alot since we have a daughter
BUT the future looks bright considering I am going to grad school so I hope it pays off in the end.
