anyone ever have one? What do they usually cost? I was thinking of getting one for the summer since I need motivation and have tried several work out plans that have failed. Are they worth it?
thanks! Lora

Re: personal trainers???????
but at 113 you did not need to lose weight,,,,you need to tone your muscles, which would increase your metabolism, adn equals wt loss. I don't want people who need weight loss to think they can just lift weights and lose weight.

If you are a size 2, and added some muscle, you will burn off more calories? Right? And get a little more shape to your body.
Just my opinion and personal experience.

I had a trainer for six months before the wedding and was in the best shape I ever was he was great now I cant afford him I paid like 860.00 for 24 sessions and got like four free at the end not too bad, but a lot to pay up front they do help and push you though

Re: personal trainers???????
Tammy~~ I go to Absolutely Fit on Newbridge Road just north of Sunrise Hwy. It is owned by a female chiropractor. There are very small classes so it feels like having one on one sessions. For real personal training, the price goes down like Jenny2Penny said with the more you book.
Where do you go now?

Re: personal trainers???????
There is a Personal Training Institute in Smithtown that I plan to check out as soon as I have this baby (probably on my way home from the hospital! ).
I need to have someone standing next to me MAKING me exercise.

kelly- i'm in the same area as you. i on/off go to world gym- it's probably very close to you- off of 347 on mark tree road or pond path. i always get those 2 confused.
i'm looking for a trainer to motivate me too. the problem i have is actually going there- once i am there- i have a decent workout.

Re: personal trainers???????
jagrawal7- How much do they charge a month and do they explain what you should be doing? I really don't mind going to the gym, it's just that I need someone to motivate me and make me do it. I've gone with friends before and something always happens where they quit and leave me hanging! THat's the #1 reason I quit too.

Re: personal trainers???????
my membership is about 40/month. they have someone that takes you around and shows you how to do everything.
i'm sure they have names of personal trainers that you could work with- i've never actually asked about that.
my problem is that with the job i have - there are no set hours - i have meetings in the evening often and sometimes free time in the day so it's hard for me to keep appointments that aren't work related.
anyway, give them a call and see what their fees are- i'm not sure if it's still the same price now.
it's a big gym- they have a pool, tennis courts (which is separate), lots of cardio machines and all.
