Personalized bottles of wine as favors...

FH and I want to use personalized wine bottles as favors. I've found one company's site that does it for a reasonable price, but the brands are not very good and the bottles are very cheap looking (with screw off bottle caps.) Does anyone else know of any companies/ web sites for this?

Re: Personalized bottles of wine as favors...

I think I visited that site you mentioned! LOL

FH and I ordered our bottles through Pindar Wine Store in Port Jeff - they have a website, but I don't think they offer the wine selections there - only in the store. If you order more than 2-3 cases, you get a discount, up to 25% off, which helped us a lot.

We decided to go with Duck Walk's Chardonnay - for the price, it's a decent bottle of wine.

Then we bought personalized labels and had Pindar put them on each bottle for us.

Here's a pic

Re: Personalized bottles of wine as favors...

I work for one of the largest wine/liquor distributors in NY.
My company will provide the liquor for every one of our wedding halls , every restaurant you eat at, night club you go to, liquor store you buy from!
Anyway if you choose a wine and order from my company, the personalized labels are free.
We don't carry Pindar though.

Re: Personalized bottles of wine as favors...

I think this is a great idea!!!

My friend did it with Pindar and was able to get a really good deal. I believe that she went through the store in Port Jeff as well.

Pindar gets a thumbs up from me as well. My SIL used them for her favors and she said she got 25% off when she ordered more than 2-cases. They also included the bags & ribbon.

Re: Personalized bottles of wine as favors...

I just called Duck Walk Vineyards and then Pindar Wine store. Can anyone tell me if this is about right or if they found a better deal somewhere?

This is the pricing I got:

(Both said they will wrap and put on personalized labels if you supply them)

Pindar:
150 bottles (red or white) - $1,092

DuckWalk
White $80.55/case, about $1007 for 150
Red $71.51/case, about $894 for 150

Re: Personalized bottles of wine as favors...

Cindy did this for her wedding. She got the labels from across the street to the Pindar Store in Pt. Jeff. You might want to ask her when she gets home what the price was.

Re: Personalized bottles of wine as favors...

How are you putting them out on the tables? Do you think they are too big for tables? Are you giving one per couple or one to every guest?

Re: Personalized bottles of wine as favors...

I am definitely giving one per guest and they will be on the tables. I don't think they are too big for the tables because our tables are the oval ones that seat 12 and I think they are pretty big, plus our flowers will be up off the table giving us more room.

Also, because of the prices I am seeing so far, I think we are using the half bottles instead of the full size ones, which will take up even less room. But if you think about it, the width of the bottle isn't that much bigger then most favors, so other then being very tall, it shouldn't take up too much room on the table itself, I would think.

Re: Personalized bottles of wine as favors...

bridetobe:

When I called Pindar, they told me $12.99 per bottle. With 25% off, for 150 bottles, that's almost $1500. How did you get such a low quote? Did they tell you how much per bottle?

Re: Personalized bottles of wine as favors...

We're giving out 1 per guest too, but they're too big for our tables. Instead, we'll have them put out at the end of the evening on the placecard table, so guests can take 1 on their way out.

Re: Personalized bottles of wine as favors...

we did half size champagne bottles, Freixenet. got them at a local distributor for about $4-$5 a bottle, i'm not sure. then we ordered the labels on line, at www.myownlabels.com. they were nice, and affordable, then we just also put a ribbon on the neck of the bottle.

Re: Personalized bottles of wine as favors...

zac-I called and said I wanted to use Duckwalk wine as my favor for my wedding. They said it was $8.95 per bottle. I asked how much for 150 and they said $1092 (includes tax - I didn't think to ask that at Duckwalk). My conversation was really short. They didn't mention a case discount or anything like that. Did you ask for Duckwalk wine?

Teri- how are you going to coordinate that each couple only takes one bottle? are you assigning names to them?

Re: Personalized bottles of wine as favors...

bridetobe - To avoid confusion, we're giving 1 bottle per guest. I would have rather given 1 bottle per couple since it's more than I wanted to spend, but to coordinate that would be too hard.
I thought about every possible way - assigning names - too many people will be searching for their name at the end of the night - what if someone else takes on by accident, etc.

Instead, each guest will take 1 bottle as they leave the reception.
