personalizing wedding

Hi gals!

Last and first time I posted here I was asking about venues and you all were an amazing help! I'm still in the process of choosing mine, but I'm starting to wonder how I could make my wedding 'mine'. PS I am officially engaged now! WHEE!!!

Anyway.... so many reception halls are already so beautifully decorated, but I've always dreamed of having paper lanterns or twinkling lights above the dance floor. Do most reception halls allow this? Tell me how you ladies personalized your reception. I've love to hear!

Thanks dolls! :)

yea most will let you do things like that. I'm putting pictures around of us and the family. Hanging our baby pictures on the bathroom doors and then since we're a fall theme we're getting mini pumpkins to put around with candles.

My FH and I are very big into our German/Hungarian heritage. So to make it 'us' we are going to be doing a couple of traditional dances. His club he belongs to does a dance at a members wedding and mine does a different one. So those will be the dances we do with all of our friends and family from our groups

I believe when it comes to hanging things from the ceilings, it depends on ceiling height and fire codes.. Just call or e-mail your BM and ask, I'm sure they'll know. When I worked in a pre-K we actually got fined from the fire marshal because I had snowflakes the kids cut out hanging from the ceilings in my classroom (OOPS!)

Mine allows us to hang things over the dancefloor. We are doing hanging mason jars and possibly tissue paper pom pom balls.
