Pesonal Training Institute

HAs anyone gone there? I was thinking of signing up for a month to see how I like it.

IT is a franchise. They have a few on the island.

Oh...I dont like what I am hearing.
No experience necessary? Geeez.
Where are places of finding personal trainers other than a gym? Any ideas? I am not having any luck.

I was going to work there actually, they believe strictly in the policy of one set to failure. Basically if you are doing bicep curls you do them at a certain weight until you can't do anymore. You do one exercise for each part of your body. It works for some but not all people, that is why I refused the job. They don't differ from their policy at all, and I believe everyone should be treated according to what will work for them.

I did read an article online and they were mentioned in there about their beliefs in the one set of exercise, which is kind of ok for me. I dont like that they advertise 'no experience necessary.' That bothers me.

LILqtny - Do you know what the trainers there need to work there?

I got a gift certificate for there, and I'll be starting soon. I'm pretty sure you're working with people who are learning to be personal trainers. In college, I took a toning class with a student instructor. Personally, I like working with people who are training in certain fields, and they can never work with you unsupervised. They usually are more enthusiastic, have new ideas, and like I said, they can't do anything without supervision. I'm not positive this is the case with PTI, but it's kind of the assumption I'm going on.

they interviewed me and offered me the job easy as that!

ALL FOR SPORTS AND FITNESS in West Islip, in the Bobs Shopping Center is where I go and I LOVE it!!! the trainers there are so friendly, I just know them from being in the gym I have not used them but they are so nice!
