I was just going to go to Michaels to pick up some things and I was thinking of getting the card stock to try making my petal cones and my mother is like, 'Ummm...you can't roll card stock' LOL At least I said something before I bought it! haha
What did everyone use? Isn't regular paper a little filmsey?

Re: Petal Cones!!!!
There has got to be something in between - i did a test run on regular computer paper, and it was a bit flimsy.

Re: Petal Cones!!!!
I found these on martha stewart. They are very easy to make and look really pretty.
Cut paper doilies into quarters, roll into cones, and seal with a sticker or tape. On the day of the wedding, fill the cones with petals from fresh, opened roses. Stand the cones in a tissue paper-lined box, and hand them out to guests just after the ceremony.

Thats what Maxine (soontobemrsZ) had at her wedding. Its still in my coat pocket! I believe she glued the ends together and then glued a tiny silk rose on it.

That sounds nice with the doilies! I am going to try it this weekend. My florist offered to do them too if I can't, lol

Re: Petal Cones!!!!
I bought the doilies and was going to do them, but I hated the way they looked when I was done. I went and bought scrapbook paper--not, 8.5X11, but the oversize dkind for bigger books. I was able to fold these and get 4 squares out of one sheet. The I rolled, taped (gluing would have been better!!!!!), punched two holes and tied the ribbon. The nice thing about using the scrapbook paper is that it comes in sooooo many colors, designs, and textures. Mine was a shimmery pearlized one.
I had gotten cardstock and my mom was wrong- it rolls fine! lol She was thinking of the thick paper invitations come on. I just have to call my florist tomorrow and ask her what size I should make them. I made a full sheet and a half sheet. I definitely think I want to put some ribbon or maybe a rose bud in the center of a bow or something to jazz it up a bit because mine are just plain white.

This is what I did. They came out great and were very simple to do
I have also heard of using scrapbook paper to do this. I'm wondering how to get words printed on the inside. If I can't figure it out I'm going to use the paper or the doilie.

Someone on here actually emailed me a template that she used to put the words inside. It seems actually pretty easy (just about to go work on them now).
If you like me to send you the template, FM me your email address and I'm happy to share

That's EXACTLY what I did! I used 12x12 scrapbook paper with double stick tape. Then I put a sticker on the seam.
