So, my ceremony is taking place outside (hopefully!). I'm indecisive as to whether I should use petal cones or bubbles and I was wondering what you gals are using. I don't want something that I'd be picking out of my hair and dress like 3 hours later.
ETA: I'm considering those heart shaped rice and was just wondering if I'd be forever picking them out of my hair
Is there any specific reason why you chose what you chose?

i chose bubbles over petal cones bc i have this thing against the cones... i duno, i just dont like them, everytime ive been given a cone at a wedding, the roses never properly come out of it

i voted petal cones bc i hate bubbles (thats just me personally) so that is what i wanted to do petal cones but my church had a no throwing rule....anyway....
i have only been to one wedding where guests actually got a ton of bubbles floating around and it looked nice other wise the majority have been kinda lame...so i guess that part depends on the actions of your guests....if you think they will all blow bubbles for you then it does make for an amazing picture and moment...but if they are kinda lazy then throwing a few petals maybe more their speed....

I choose petals over bubbles b/c I liked they way they look in the professional pictures, I like how they can isolate each petal and keep them in color and the rest of the photo in B&W. I felt like bubbles wouldn't give that same effect. :)
I wasn't picking the petals out of my hair or dress either, Plus some bubbles can stain dresses, so becareful.

i saw that you are at crest hollow also? are you doing the toss right after the ceremony and then going to cocktails. also what time is it at... mine is at night and i was thinking of using sparklers

We are doing petal cones. The choice for us was between petal cones and the heart shaped rice.
I always dreamed I would have those DIY Silk flowers with the heart shaped stuff in them. But the Rose petals look soooo beautiful in pictures so I couldn't take that off the table. Since I couldn't decide I let FH pick. He said he would prefer Rose Petals because he doesn't want a bunch of little rice thrown at him! Ha ha ha! I also don't want to pick that stuff out either.
Bubbles were on the list for about 10 seconds. But I was always iffy on that because I was scared something would get stained. We have Royal Blue as our color.. so I was nervous. Also, I've been to weddings with bubbles where no one ever blew them! I think 2 weddings actually. They gave them out and no one used them!
Edit - the pics of bubbles that I have seen are very very very cute!

I did petal cones and they look great in the pictures! But my ceremony was inside, so I never really considered bubbles. Since you might be outside....the bubbles will look really nice also.

Yep I'm getting married there too! It's such a beautiful place! I think I'm doing the toss right after the ceremony because then we'll be inside til the night is over (my cocktail is indoor). I'm getting married at 8.
Sparklers sound cool...can we use them in ny? Are they considered fireworks or something?
