Petal question....help please!

At this point, with 8 days left to go, I have NO desire to sit here and make petal cones. I'm still working on my programs and have to do a few more favors. I have quite a few appointments/finals/RD and packing to do, so sitting here playing with doilies isn't working too well lol.

If you remember, I posted last week that the doilies are flimsy (thanks to some LIW'ers who suggested using vellum paper...just haven't had time to get some : ( )........I'm just wondering, what are the OTHER options rather than petal cones?

Have you ever seen any weddings where there were loose petals in a basket and a BM handing them out to guests (take a few and throw)???

I've never seen it done loose in a basket, but you can really do whatever you want!! Do what is easiest for you!! Don't make yourself crazy over petals!!

I say the same thing lol It's such a tiny detail....I feel that as long as there are petals floating through the air SOME HOW, SOME WAY, who cares? lOL THANKS

I went to a wedding last summer where they had someone passing out little white bags filled with petals, no monogram or anything like that just little white baggies... it looked fine to me!

Why not do a pretty basket filled with petals.

It's also very 'green', less paper wasted!

put them in little bags, like you said its such a small detail and such a thing will really be the last thing you really notice that day, no need to go crazy about this small detail

actually places sell them by the bag, some places sell them in small bags so that would make it easy

I went to a wedding where they put the petals in little pals...or what about buying the favor boxes and putting them in that? you can make a sticker to put on it...

I have seen this done with rice, and it could totally work for rose petals. You could also buy slightly larger organza bags (4 inches) and fill those. If it's going to be too much trouble, don't sweat the small stuff and just have your FG or ushers walk around with baskets of rose petals.
