My friends is having a hard time finding a wedding dress.. that is b/c she is so petite and small.. so all of the samples fall off of her.. so it is so hard to tell what it would look like..
Besides David Bridal is there anywhere else that carries dress in different sizes!

Re: Petite Brides
Most shops carry dresses in sizes 8, 10, and 12. My SIL is a size zero and the bridal consultant used really good clips to hold the dress in place. She went to Alissa's Bridal in Brooklyn.

I had this problem too. I wear a size 0 so many of the samples were really big. But, some salons just seemed to be better at clipping and pinning than others. in some places they put one clip and the dress was falling off, in others they clipped it all over the place and I was afraid they were altering the actual shape of the dress. My advice is to tell her to be somehwat demanding at teh salons and make sure they clip it appropriately without taking away from the dress. HTH!

I'm petite also and i had a really hard time because I felt all the dress looked ugly on me (all the gowns I tried on were HUGE) but at the end, I went to Charmet in Bayside, the lady was really nice... and she clipped the gown really well.. and ofcourse i ended up falling in love with a Mori Lee gown.

Re: Petite Brides
I am a size 0 as well. The woman pinned the dress with what looked like binder clips so well, that I wouldn't thought it was my size. My dress is strapless and she had that sucker pulled so tight it stayed on perfectly.

I agree the pinner can do wonders - Kleinfeld was REALLY good at this. The Wedding Salon of Manhasset had dresses that were actually small - and I believe she said all the Reem Acra dresses only come in 2,4 and 6

I'm smaller than a zero and Kleinfeld's was wonderful. Tell her she needs to go to places with EXCELLENT service and more high end salons. Even if she doesn't buy it there (I bought mine at Kleinfelds but it wasn't too expensive).

Re: Petite Brides
I'm petite too...all 5 feet of me!, lol...I got my dress at Bridal Reflections and they pinned me in the sample dress so good, it wasn't going anywhere!
The sample isn't supposed to fit perfectly, that's why they order it to size! So they had to custome made my gown because they were taking 7 inches off the bottom!!! It's coming in next month! I can't wait

I didn't have much of a problem. Yes, all the samples where falling off me, but I go the idea, when they would clip me up. Most places have all different sample dresses, in all different sizes. The majority of sizes are going to at least be a 10. The only one I know of with different sizes is Davids Bridal. Tell her to keep looking. I got my dress at Adriennes. I also really liked Fantasias in Rocky Point.
