Re: petite girls, what type of dress are you wearing?

If you are short, a very puffy ball gown may not the most flattering.

I wore an A-line with slight pleats at the waist. I also had a basque waist. I think it made me look taller!

I looked better in a-live dress. I am wearng Marisa 644 wich has a pick up on each side by the hips, a drop waist (I have a short torso), and it curtains in the front. I highly recommend the dress!!!!
Re: petite girls, what type of dress are you wearing?
I am quite petite, just about five foot and just over 100 pounds, and a very poofy ball gown looked best on me. The straight cut gowns didn't flatter my shape at all ( many people told me this because I tried them on and loved that style ) The ball gown shows off my small waist and gives me some curves. I wouldn't rule out any style, just try them all on !!

Re: petite girls, what type of dress are you wearing?
I have a petite frame but I am not super skinny. All of my work suits are petites (but not such a tiny size anymore . ) I was married in an A-Line dress with not a lot of detail on the skirt. Years ago, when I was skinny and petite, I am not even sure if I could have worn A-line. I used to disappear in some things I tried on. A friend of mine who is very petite wore a mermaid style, but that was when it was more popular. My sister wore a completely straight dress for her wedding. The dresses that are poofy starting at the waist are the ones to avoid if you are petite, I think.

i went with a ball gown as i have no curves as well. i am a little taller than most 'petites' but i am pretty thin.

Mine is a bit of a mermaid fit which elongated my torso and i asked for it to be made with a sweetheart top, which also elongated my neck. We little people have to come up with all sorts of tricks!

I'm having an A-line dress by maggie sottero called suzanne. I'm petite as well. I think A-line is the most flattering. You can find the pictures of me in my dress in my community album. my dress

I am wearing an A-line dress, that gathers in the middle. I am also not wearing strapless, I felt a little strap made the dress look longer.

Re: petite girls, what type of dress are you wearing?
When I tried on ballgowns I felt like they swallowed me up, so I went with a mermaid. But the magazines say only tall people should wear mermaids and alines are best, so who knows. trial and error are the only way to know because every petite body is different. Have fun trying on dresses though!
