Pets at the wedding??

Original post by piyopika

Anybody having their pets (dogs) at their wedding? Or been to one that has?

FI have 2 toy breed dogs, they are like my children. Would love to have them at the ceremony, but might just be too crazy, since my yorkie - Sonic is a yapper and gets scared easily by crowds.

Just wondering if you ladies know anyone that had their pets at the wedding and worked?

I would imagine that SOME health code would be violated if they were brought to the reception.

That's not necessarily true. What about seeing eye dogs or other type of 'helper' dogs. They are usually allowed everywhere, with no risk or health code violations.

My friend Gail had her dog in the wedding (I'm not sure what breed) and everything worked just fine. The ceremony was at the reception site (Sans Souci). I think that it's an adorable idea...pets are definitely members of the family!

<--- Come on, he's GORGEOUS! How could he not come??? I'm kidding of course... we live extremely close to our reception site so the dog is coming for pictures then going home.

OMG, I wish I could have my little son (Cha-Chi) walk down the aisle as a pillow-dog!...lol

That would be so CUTE!! I don't think the church will allow us to do that...LOL

I would love to have my little dachshund be a part of the ceremony, but she's just too hyper and ill-behaved. If she had been properly trained instead of spoiled to death, I would definately have her in it.

when i brought up the idea of having my nephew(ring boy) walk down with my maltese at my church ceremony, my mom flipped out on me. i'm almost positive that my reception hall won't allow pets either.

when my sister had her wedding, she ended up having her reception at church too so we hid our dog in the office until speech time. i brought her up with me while i gave my moh speech. she's usually a huge yapper but she was reallly calm that night. she was probably scared because there were so many strangers around.

Like in Meet the parents with the pillow? LOL
I would love for my cat to be there too. She is our baby and already dressed up (she is black and white) I think I am going to have pictures with her though. Is that silly??

I really want Buster there, but he is not a good boy around alot of people.....maybe just some pics....where can you get a doggie tux???

Go to Petco they usually have the outfits but it may only be seasonal. You can also try a company called Votoys( not sure of the website) they make halloween costumes. or another company called Ethical Pet Products has the costumes.
I work in the industry thats how I know these things..not that I dress my dog up alot....
