Anybody having their pets (dogs) at their wedding? Or been to one that has?
FI have 2 toy breed dogs, they are like my children. Would love to have them at the ceremony, but might just be too crazy, since my yorkie - Sonic is a yapper and gets scared easily by crowds.
Just wondering if you ladies know anyone that had their pets at the wedding and worked?

It's just a thought, highly doubt we'll do it, there will be too much going on that day as is!

IMO, leave the dogs in a kennel or at home.
the hall will most likely not allow pets anyway.

I went to a wedding where their black lab was a groomsman! He was escorted down the aisle by another groomsman and he had on a tuxedo! He was soooo well behaved! He was in pictures with everyone too. It was fun! If your dogs are yappy like you say, then I wouldn't do it. This dog was an angel and the crowd didn't bother him at all! You could maybe take pictures with your dogs before though - that's always nice

Re: Pets at the wedding??
I know what you mean about your pets feeling like your children. I sometimes talk to my cat like he's a human being. I'm sure my neighbors think i'm crazy.
I'm not sure if it would be such a good idea. You'll be having so much to worry about that day and this might be one more headache for you two. I probably would only consider it if I knew I had someone I can trust to watch them the whole day !!! Also, i'm not even sure the hall would allow it.
Did you see Adam Sandler had his dog at his wedding?? wasn't the dog his best man?? that was so cute

My dog Charlie is my ring bearer He will be walked down the aisle by my FSIL and I have 2 of my sister's friends who will take him home after the reception introductions. My hall had no problem - and of all the places we looked at were also ok with it - so I would just double check with them before making the decision. And also make sure your dog is well behaved, or it won't work too well.

My Pastor would have a stroke if I brought pets to the church! Villa's would as well....
My mother has an American Eskimo (I love that dog!) and we are dressing him in a doggie tux and taking some pictures before the church.

FI and I always joke about how we should have our yorkie (boy) be our ring bearer and our Pomeranian (girl) be our flower girl, only if they will listen to us! Usually the bigger breed dogs are more well behaved then the small ones, mine are completely spoiled
I think we might include them in our engagement pictures.

I wanted to do this too.... Have my pup and his new cousin in the weddingparty but then I dont think they could last the reception....
My baby Mr. Blue (see profile for pic) can't come to the church or the hall...but I'm having my mom make him a tie matching the guys and will take pics with him the morning of at my house. I love that boy so much! It's going to suck going away on the HM - well, almost!

I think this is a good idea. If you have reservations about them not behaving the day of, then I wouldn't do it. JMO

Re: Pets at the wedding??
I really wanted my mini schnauzer to be the ring bearer. However, being that my Cosmo is a bit on the 'insane' side, and will run after the first person he smells food on, and barks all the time at anything that moves, I didn't even consider it!
I will encorporate him with pictures. We'll make sure to tak lots of pics with him before going to the hall.

I would imagine that SOME health code would be violated if they were brought to the reception.

Re: Pets at the wedding??
I know when my mom got married (this is back in 1972) she took pictures with her dog on the front lawn before she got in the limo to go to the church. She loved that dog and it's nice that she got to include him in the day and keep that as a memory of him. He later ran away and she never saw him again so I know that pic really means a lot to her. I would include the dog like that, but not bring him to the ceremony even if FH does allow it, that would just be too much esp if he's a yapper.
