OMG Novemberbride my cat does the same thing with Q-tips
He takes them and any hairband he finds and leaves them in his food dish like a prize!

Re: Pets & their strange habits or behaviors.
I'm catsitting for a year and boy, do they have strange habits. Edna sometimes does these sprints around the apartment and she is FAST!Until earlier this week, Millie, the other cat, used to sit on your chest and stab your neck with her paws. She loved sitting on your chest especially if you were reading or watching TV and black your view. Unfortunately, she passed away yesterday after being sick with what I thought was a minor stomach ailment for 5 days.
I'm still in shock because I did not expect her to die so quickly! She was 13 but seemed relatively healthy until Sunday when she got sick. We were supposed to go to the vets today to see what was wrong. Now, she is in the land of no pain and lots of catnip. I'm sorry to be such a downer, but I am upset and it helps me to write about her. Another strange Millie habit - she loved to lick my FI's armpits while he was still in bed in the morning. YUCK!!!

We have a lab who does all sorts of weird things. He LOVES to rummage through garbage and eat tissues and q-tips. But the strangest thing is that he loves to eat nativity people--so far he has chewed on Mary, baby Jesus, and a sheppard!

Re: Pets & their strange habits or behaviors.
We have 3 cats & the stories I could tell....but the strangest behavior is Lilys she loves my hair. She loves to climb on me & knead in my hair & fall asleep. When she was a kitten it was quite adoring, but now that she's 4 it's fairly annoying. But, no matter what I do there are many a night I wake up with her sleeping in my hair. I just don't have the heart to lock them out of my bedroom at night.LOL

July baby ~ I'm so sorry...
Dani ~ Judging by the Nativity eating behavior, I'm guessing your dog is trying to tell you that he isn't Catholic...

OMG, JennRenee, we had a dog that did the same digusting thing. He'd dig the undies out of the hamper, then run around the house with them-eventually hiding them under the dining room table.

My parents dog loves to open presents and has been trying to steal them from under the tree. Quite a few have the corners ripped already. Also all you have to say is Happy Birthday and she runs to the table thinking she gets to have cake.We just adopted a 6 year old cat 2 weeks ago from Save-a-pet in Port Jeff St. He is so cute loves to sleep on you but, keeping us up at night hitting us in the face and throwing things off the dresser.

Jenn-yes I guess he is a Jewish dog so maybe we should get him a stuffed menorah so he'll leave my nativity set alone

Re: Pets & their strange habits or behaviors.
Hi everyone, I love this thread. Its nice to know that I am not the only one neurotic little dog. My little freak is afraid of door mats, and at a whopping 13lbs is having a love afair with the leg of an Irish wolfhound(200LBS) that lives by us. The saddest part about that is that the other dog completely ignores my dog like a fly or something. And also since he's the same breed as that dog from 'As Good As It Gets'(Helen Hunt) also will jump over any cracks in the sidewalk or road too. He is tooo cute.

Re: Pets & their strange habits or behaviors.
My black lab - mix is not the brightest, so one day we decided to give him a dog IQ test we read about. Supposedly you are supposed to put a towel over the dog's head and the longer it takes the dog to get the towel off, the 'less intelligent' he or she is. Well, I put the towel on my dog's head, and he just starting walking around with it on. Never tried to take it off! So maybe he's an idiot-savant (sp?).! Oh, I love him no matter how dim-witted he is!
Edited my awful spelling
