A few years ago, I attended a company function and brought my BF along with me. My BF happens to be my younger cousin. A couple of my male coworkers later told me how pretty she is, which didnt bother me. But one of them ALWAYS asks about her and it makes me feel uncomfortable. The party was over 5 years ago, and yet he always asks about her. Mind you, he is well into his 50's. He's made it well aware to everyone in our department that he plans to find himself a young 20 something girlfriend (no luck in the last 5 years that I've seen ) Anyway, aside from that, while having a conversation with him, if a young lady passes him, he totally blanks out of the conversations and stares at them. YUCK!!!! This also makes me feel uncomfortable but its obvious he doesnt even know hes doing it. One more situation til I get to the question. A fairly new coworker has become good friends with him. A few weeks ago this new employee, the other guy, and me were talking and the new employee slipped up that the other employee told him I had really 'HOT' young girlfriends. In particular, the young girl I had brought to the company function. I gave him the most disgusted look!! Ugh! He smiled at me and said 'Well, she is hot!!! Does she have a boyfriend?' I was speechless. I simply said 'She's not available' and walked away. So now comes the guest list. Im inviting quite a few people from work and he is not one of them. My sole reason for not inviting him is because I dont want him oggling my female guests. But I all ready know in doing this, I will be shooting myself in the foot since he will make my life a living hell at work. He's all ready bothering me insisting that I invite him. It will make for an akward situation since EVERYONE ELSE in my department is invited except him. How do I handle this situation?

Re: Petty situation, but still need your advice
Honestly I'd invite him, I have a similiar situation in which I have to invite someone I really dislike, but if I don't invite them it will be the only person in my work group I don't invite. This person could make my life difficult because she is petty and vindictive. I guess you have to decide if leaving him off the invite list is something you can deal with long term.

I think you are stuck- I don't see how you can't invite him since others from work are invited. I am sure the girls will figure him out and stay away.

I def wouldn't invite him, sounds like a real creep to me. I mean, to actually oggle young girls like that is something he should've grown out of. He doesn't seem mature enough to attend an adult reception in which all the female guests will be dressed to look their best. He may give you a hard time for awhile but he did this to himself. And with the $$ you're paying, I wouldn't have someone there that I'd have to be worrying about all night! It's just not worth it!!!

IMO...I would rather not have anyone from work at my wedding if it meant I had to invite that perv! Yuck! Your post gave me the creeps!

I would invite him to...that stinks though.
When I was an intern I worked for a 'skirt chaser' and it made me physically ill that he would stare down women...and he was a married man. He would sometimes give me those looks and it made me feel so gross
I HATE men like that

I was thinking the same thing! Do you have to invite people from work?? Can you say b/c of budget restrictions you have to keep the list to only family and very close friends???
I had a similar situation w/ one of DH's college buddies ( but he is not as bad as this guy seems.... but still an annoying perv.) anyway he was amazingly well behaved at the wedding ( from what I could see) and while I know he hit on a bunch of my single friends they were having to much fun drinking and dancing to be bothered. ( I had also given them a heads up before the wedding so they knew to watch out for him) It all worked out ok!

What a creeP! I only invited my boss from work. I looked at it this way, who would I actually keep in touch with once I left this job... chances are probably noone. I had to invite my boss but I didnt want to invite a bunch of people that I won't be in contact years from now. I say cross him off the LIST!!!!

I agree with this. Unless you are super close with someone from work (ie, see them outside of work) then only invite your boss, that way you get out of having to invite the jerk!

If you invite him, put him at a table with some folks his age or older. Hopefully that will occupy his time throughout the reception. And be sure to put hims as faraway as you can from your BF.

If you're inviting everyone else from work, I would invite the creep too. Definitely warn your gal pals to steer clear. If at all possible, I too would try to seat him far away from the singles tables.

Invite him and sit him at the table with the old ladies (90 and over)

I think you should invite him, and if he makes a fool out of himself that is only reflecting on himself and no one else.

Diva, do we work at the same place? I have a similar problem. FH's cousins are young and gorgeous. They are used to obnoxious arsholes and know how to deal with them. Fh's male family members are big and intimidating. So I am not worried. Sit the pig in front of the DJ- where there is the most noise.
