Pew Bow question...
My FMIL mentioned that she thinks that there is some significane to having the pew bows on the pews. Like, you're only suppose to put them on the rows that have the immediate family in them? Is this true? Thanks!

I have never heard that before.. i have always usually seen about the first 6 rows on each side done..
I have never heard of this either, I am putting them on all pews (aisle isnt super long).
To save money you can put bows on every other pew. Tell your ushers which pews are for immediate family.
Your FMIL is correct the signifigance of the pew bows or 'within in the ribbon' seating is supposed to reserve seats for the bridal party and close family. But I dont think this tradition is followed much any more. Pew Bows have become simply decorations.
We are doing pew bows also, but skipping rows so that the whole church aisle will be covered. I agree. I think that they have basically just become decorations now.
Make friends with the cantor, organist or sexton at your church. Brides usually leave behind the pew bows. My girlfriend checks in with our organist every Sunday morning and gets the bows from the Friday and Sat. brides. She has an assortment but she has been able to mix and match. Actually came in handy when you think anywhere from $3-$15 per bow!
I got my pew bows on ebay, and am doing all white bows w/ white roses on the first 3 rows, then I will do white bows with pink roses on every 3-4 rows (long aisle).
wow - I didn't even THINK about pew bows! You guys AMAZE me! Do you all have degrees in wedding planning? :) I am getting married on site in the library - so there will be chairs. How can I 'rope' off the area?
