Pew Bows-Are you having them?

They were expensive from the florist so I was thinking of making them myself. Not that I have tons of time left, but anyway.... Has anyone made them themselves? How are they attached to the pews? I wasn't even sure if I was going to have them but the fiance wants them and I like to make him happy. Please let me know what you're doing!

Pew Bows-Are you having them?

I had them and meant to have someone gather them afterwards so I could sell them on E-Bay. I totally forgot to ask anyone to grab them. Even worse, I didn't even see them during the ceremony. Later that night, I remember asking someone if the florist had even put them up. They do look kind of nice in the pictures, but I was disappointed in the fact that there were supposed to be 4 outside on the church railings and they put them all inside instead. They were also sort of plain - just white ribbon bows, and I had been told they would be ribbon and tulle. They were attached to the pews with rubber bands. It just stretched over the top. You can't use tape or wire, you'll have to tie them with ribbon or use rubber bands. My advice is that if you want them, definatly make them. I saw a picture of one that someone was selling on e-bay that had fake ivy and flowers and they were really pretty. If I was more familiar with the church and had more time, I would have done something like that. I don't think that what we got was worth what the florist charged.

Pew Bow attachments

You can get these plastic hook type things to put the bows on that hook right over the pews. They have them at Michael's or at floral/craft stores.

Pew Bows-Are you having them?

Definitely do them yourself. It's a very easy project and if you keep your eye out for a sale you can do very well. Use wire edged ribbon and wind it around something like a book to get the loops wide enough. Carefully slide it off the book and use some wire (even a twist tie) to bind the bunch. Pull out the loops and fluff. Use another piece of ribbon to cover the center and make the tails of the bow. You could even use ribbon roses to bound the center. Use plain satin ribbon (the thin stuff that is usually 3 rolls/$1) to loop through the bow and hang from the pew. Another cute idea is to use miniature grapevine wreaths. Wind some of that .33 ribbon around in your colors and then use some of silk flowers (maybe leaves for a fall wedding) to stick in there. If you're feeling ambitious, use a little hot glue, too. Use the same ribbon to hang from the pew. Just a few ideas.

Yes

Our florist, Flowers by Brian, will be doing 2 alter arrangements and 6 pew bows for us. We are also having the church put out their candles on the first few rows. The candles are on tall stands which bolt into the ends of the pews. The bows can get tied around the stands.
