Philip Stone Catering
We had some major problem with Philip STone. He was supposed to be a friend of the bride's parents but was no friend. He charged $5K for a tent (chairs, dance floor, tables) I priced at $1150 at other tent places. The chairs were the white plastic fold up ones, not the ballroom ones that they should have received for that price. The caterer wanted to charge $500 for the generator which is the same exact generator that you can rent from home depot for $50-100. He outsourced the porto potties and charged for VIP ones, and standard ones caem uncleaned. When they called to have then replaced, the porto potty company said they are closed on teh weekend and to have a great wedding and hung up on them. The caterer had someone from his staff come and scrub them the day before. The caterer wanted the band to play to the side and not to the people so that he could put his buffet table in the middle, when the parents of the bride had the band play to the people and the caterer came and saw he stomped his feet liek a little boy and screamed at the band crew. He then told teh florist that 'These People should be serving Hot Dogs and Hamburgers not catering'. When the wedding started, the owner of the catering told the peole to put the food out right after the band played the first song to try to outstage the band. the band noticed and quickly switched to an instrumental and quick through on the CD and later played right through their break and missed out eating. The owner of the catering later tried to eneter the house when his staff was told that NO ONE is to eneter the house and he told the staff to f***-off. He charged $125 per head for a buffet dinner (that he seved immediately after cocktail hour) that consisted of 4 main courses--> ziti, seared tuna that was raw (ok if you are a sushi buff- but not for those who aren't), Chicken with lemon sauce which I am told was still pink inside, and Prime Rib (which came for free in my cocktail hour at Chateau La Mer). The cocktail hour consisted of hard salami, cheese, crackers and hors deuvers (mini egg rolls, shrimp on cracker, steak on cracker, etc.). There were no top shelf liquors. I hardly ate. I finally at the end of the night started to eat strawberries, when I picked up one with white mold all over the bottom!!!!
