Photo Album question...

Hi Married ladies!!!

I just got my photos back yesterday and am VERY overwhelmed with the amount that is there. Can I ask you all, those of you who had digital prints.. How did you even start the process of going through and narrowing it down? I don't even know where to begin! I even contemplated getting them all printed out so I could actually go through them in hard copy... It's such a daunting task!

So overwhelming. I haven't looked at my prints in a few weeks and I need to get a move on it.

I got 5 discs of photos with over 1400 prints.
I then downloaded each disc into a folder on my computer. Deleted all the unflattering photos and got rid of quite a few.

I set aside about 30-45 mins a night to delete images I was not crazy about. I then moved the images to new folders based on : bride morning, groom morning, church, family photos and reception. It was easier to delete when common pictures were looked at together.

I then had enough of the computer and printed about 450 prints. I spent about $50. I used shutterfly so I would have the file name printed on the back.

Currently I am down to 200. I need to also figure out which I want B&W and B&W with color.

we printed ALL of our pictures and are planning to go through and organize into categories too.

Then we will separate the good & the bad

Then we will make 4 different albums... one for MIL & FIL, one for my mom & one for my dad, one for us!

Our proofs came in an album and on a disc. I got little skinny post its and anything I liked I put a sticky on. Then I had DH go thru and put his own stickies in. Helped us narrow it down.

snapfish

at the time, it made more sense to use a coupon from retailmenot.com for 60% or something like that than the .01 cent per deal because you could only get 99 with the .01 and shipping ended up being more (total across all 1600ish)
I think it was $100 for everything.

We got prints and online from our photographers(Deja Vu, YAH!!!)
The prints didnt help much, we relied on the online photos because we are more comfortable with digital.
We have four albums to fill for us and parents and it was a real challenge. We both went through the entire 1600 photos on line and made a list of our favorites, we then compared lists and began to compromise on what to include. In most cases, we like similar images of the same thing, so it was easy. We had to make a few allowances, but it wasn't too hard.
We still havent gotten to our large prints to frame yet. We will wait until we get the albums back to see how they look.

Oh boy, I don't even want to think about picking photos for the album. I have 1600 photos and looking through them to pick out some photos for the thank you card is overwhelming enough lol

What Sandr325 did sounds like a great idea of narrowing them down so I think I may do that when the time comes. I think once I get rid of the bad photos or lots of the similar ones and print them it will help a lot! To narrow it down for the album.

Question did u ladies have to mention what type of effects you wanted on pics? Does anyone know what that whiteish/yellow look is called? Almost like a bright look
