Photo Album Trouble

Hi Ladies,

I got married last September 25th and still haven't picked out all the photos I would like for my photo album. The photographer took 3000 photos and a lot of them look great. So imagine me trying to narrow these photos to only 75! When I called to upgrade to a bigger photo album they refused to give me a discount because they already had given us a break which I understand...

I now have 115 photos and I'm stuck, I have to remove 40 more photos I love them all. The good thing is that we own the rights to these photos and I know I can always make a separate album for the ones that didn't make it.

How did you organize your wedding albums and pick the right photos?

Ugh.. I know EXACTLY what your going through...We got married on October 3rd and I hadn't started looking at our photos until about 6 months later. After I choose all the pix - very agonizing I might add LOL.. and had like 40 more than I should, I started working on the layout.. Just a few pix in I said to myself... maybe I should call my photog. because I had some questions about HOW to do the layout... thank GOD I called because it turned out that because the 'digital book' took off.. the original 'traditional book' we wanted he cant obtain anymore =( I was SOO upset. The upside was the digital book I could choose more photos. SO then I had to go back and go over all the pix again and choose all over again.

I know its going to be SO hard to narrow it down to 75 but what you have to do is spread all the pictures out on the floor and go over them one by one. Try to eliminate any picture you might have a double of. Also, like you said - you own the rights - like we did too. We have the disk with all the images on it. What I did was one day snapfish had a deal like 200 pictures for $2. So I printed every single picture LoL and put them in 2 photo albums. They are now on my coffee table so when we have company anyone can look at them. The wedding album is really a keepsake for you and your husband. You will show it to your family and stuff but after a while you dont want it to be opened too much in case it gets worn out - you wouldn't want it to fall apart. Also, after your done showing it off - it will go back in the box, probably in your closet or draw and you wont pull it out for a long time. I think the idea of printing them cheap on snapfish and then keeping them on your coffee table is a great idea and then you wont have to worry about possibly damaging your personal keepsake between you and your husband. Also it will be out all year round!
