For girls who got the photo albums from your photog, how much did they cost (yours vs parent albums).
And for girls who skipped them and made their own, do you regret it? Was it worth the cost savings?
I'm considering getting the parent albums as gifts and then making our own album but I don't want to regret it, although I suppose we could always add them in later.
Any thoughts would be appreciated :) Thanks!

i made my own ...
parent albums cost $20 each (after finding a 60% off coupon) ... my album cost about $175 (it was flush-mount pages but not the super-thick ones)
it is def a lot cheaper to do it on your own BUT you really need to have an eye for it, not to mention patience. Mine took at least 10 hours to make (not on the same day though haha)
ps: parent albums are fairly simple so i'd def do those again on my own!

From what I am seeing - and honestly i have been to 6 photogs, and called a TON of them.... The albums are insanely $$$
You can make a great one through shutterfly, snapfish, etc....
If later on you want a professional one, you can always get it made through your photog!
Im not getting any albums.... and it makes a huge difference in price!

Thats what I'm saying! I think the two parents albums were 3 something, but ours would have been 1200!! Wow! I know I can def make my own, but I wanted to know if the girls who did this were actually happy with what they came out with.

My photographer - Dan Wagner, had a sample of a very cool magazine style e-pic book that a bride made herself on a website, and i thought it was very cool!
Im sure there are fancy ones and stuff!
everyone has diff opinions and all, but i just cant justify spending over $800 on something like that!
I rather have the rights to all the pics and do my own.... :)

I am making my own...and since I am making them on my own, just like I did planning the wedding, its something to remember....IMO

I am getting my album from the photographer but I skipped the parent albums because I would need 3 parent albums and I think i'll be able to make them for cheaper.
