Photoshop is great for that. I can ask my husband exactly what steps he does to colorize that photos.

BTW...we share an Anniversary...we got married on Oct 20, 2001!!

I do it with the full version of photoshop....

you start with a color pic...change it into b/w (greyscale) then using the history tool...you can 'color' in the areas that you want color...

I colored in my nieces sash her...and I also blurred out the background

Like Yabbo said, its easier done if you start with a color photo.

It can be done with a black and white photo but you get more of a 'painted' old style tinting look rather than a pop of color.

If you have photoshop elements or any other program that allows you to use 'layers' it will work.

Yup, I finally was able to pull it up onto my computer last night. I didn't have enough time to start playing around with it yet....but it looks complicated!

I'm hoping to find some time this weekend - I love the B&W shots with a bit of color

Re: photo coloring

its not so bad...also there are tons of ideas/instructions online...

but just make sure you look for instructions for 6.0 or 7.0 the others can be very different...that is assuming you have 6.0 or 7.0
