Re: Photo Guest Books...
I don't have pics but this is what I am doing instead of the photobooth. I love the idea but don't think it is worth $2000
My DJ is helping me with this. We agreed to use polaroids or some other type of instant film. he will be snapping pictures of people to put in a scrap book, and they can write things next to their photo. He will also be giving them a copy of the photo as a souvenier.
I don't think I would ever actually look at the regular guest book, and know most people never sign them. So I really love this idea because it's a combination of the guest book and a scrap book.

This sounds great! My best friend had trouble because not everyone took a picture. Is that what the DJ will be doing? Or will he be the one giving directions?

Re: Photo Guest Books...
my BM had one at her wedding. a friend walked around w/ a polariod camera, and she had a guest book with special insert pockets for the pics. each couple/household got a page to write their message next to the photo. it was cute, and i think it pressured more people into stopping by the guest book.

i did this. we made it on a mac, brought a sharpie & left it on the card box table & on a piano at cocktail hour.

The DJ crew is going to bring an extra person just for the polaroids and scrap books.
I thought about asking a friend to do it, but I want people to come to my wedding and enjoy. I don't want anyone to have a 'job' to do.
Plus, I am trying to have the front of the book be 'formal', with nice photos and people's messages, and as the night goes on, the back of the book will have people dancing and having fun and writing funnier messages.

Re: Photo Guest Books...
I am doing a photo guestbook but it's photos of us, not our guests.
I put 1-2 pics of me and FH per page and the guests can sign around them
A friend of mine did this and enlisted me and another friend to take the polaroids as people came into the cocktail hour.
I have to say - it came out great - however...
This was so much work for us! We wanted to do a really good job for her but we also wanted a cocktail and to enjoy being a guest.
If you have teenagers or something, definitely assign them over a a regular guest.

This is so cute. My friend had a polaroid Camera and had each guest put a pic of them in the guest book (photo album) they signed thier name and wrote a short note in the book It was alot of fun!
This is a pic of the ad for it in Daisy Days's website

I'm doing it this way too.. my friend is now a southerner and is beautiful and has that adorable accent, no one will be able to resist! And she just asked me to do the same for her wedding!

That's a good plan. How much are they charging you for this?
