Photo lineups?

Does anybody have a good plan on how to make sure the photographer gets everything he needs? We only have a quick time on the steps of the Cathedral to shoot the formal shots, and I want to make sure the right people are around and ready to go. Should I notify them all individually? Tell the photographer with a list? Any advice would be helpful!

Re: Photo lineups?

Do I submit this to him? Just like hand it to him? How will he know who everybody is? Is that a stupid question....

And for the formal shots, do I tell the people that they should be right there waiting after the ceremony?

Re: Photo lineups?

My friend had one of her friends (non bm) and gave her a list-- she met everybody at the rehearsal dinner and made sure the people were there when it was their turn.

Re: Photo lineups?

we have designated a close family friend for this. They have been friends of our family for many years so they know exactly who everyone is. I will give this friend the same list the photographer gets and then she will get people as needed.

Re: Photo lineups?

I let my MOH and day of event coordinator responsible for gathering people together for our formal shots.

Photographers do this all the time so they know what shots we really want...I think you should point out any special people or things outside of the norm of what they are used to shooting. I went over the things that I wanted that might not have been something my photographer has done before.

What I would suggest to you is that at your rehearsal you should let everyone know how things are going to progress, that is what we did since we were not having a receiving line at the church. So my coordinator along with the rest of the bridal party went right outside instead of waiting in the main area where everyone was gathering and the people followed them right outside. Get the word out to everyone that photos are being taken immediately and due to time, no one can stray.

All the best and happy planning

Re: Photo lineups?

photographers will know to get the basic shots...what you want to tell them:

guests like grandma...your best friend from kindergarten...a great aunt...etc...

also include names of EVERYONE in the wedding party...It so much easier to call out 'Mary' than 'MOB'
