Photo locations near Larkfield?

Anyone live around Larkfield Manor and know of any parks near the venue?
I want an area with a big open space to take pictures but I don't want to venture off too far from the venue.

downtown!!!! that's where we are going. with traffic it is about 15 mins away , MAX.

you can take pix on the docks, in the park, on the gazebo, in town... a friend even did at the sweet shop, they came out sooo cute (if i wasn't using her photographer too i might copy that LOL)

Vanderbilt is gorgeous. I'm taking my wedding pictures there. But the site fee is a little expensive. Also it's on a first come first serve basis so if another bride is already booked that day they limit you to only 2 locations with no price cut. I also looked into northport village, I don't live far from there. Its also beautiful. But when I called town hall to confirm I didn't need a permit, they wouldn't allow you to use the gazebo because they rent that out at times. During the summer they have a barricade up so you can't even get into the gazebo

So I just went to vanderbuilts website and read this:

'Dates and Times
We begin accepting applications in April for the coming season. Only one event is allowed at a time. Dates may be blocked out due to high visitation, holidays or other special events. Weddings and wedding photography may be held during the months of May through September in the following time periods:
Saturdays 1:00pm - 3:00pm, 3:00pm - 5:00pm
Sundays 1:00pm - 3:00pm, 3:00pm - 5:00pm'

Guess I wont be going there! My wedding is in October and they only do permits through September apparently :(

also, according to Larkfield, they will have beautiful grounds and you won't want/ need to go anywhere else.

i grew up in NPT so i WANT to go downtown, plus FW and I had one of our first 'Dates' at cow harbor day... otherwise we kind of considered saving the limo $ and not going!

True... I just really wanted an open field of some sort.. I know the Larkfield grounds are going to be nice.. but it doesn't seem like its going to be that big. Maybe I should stop being so picky. lol

LOL it's not picky!

I don't see how the grounds can be that big either.... the new building is HUGE we saw it the other day. then again, the clay pitts side has some room.... i just wish 711 sold out! and let them take the whole corner over! lol

Anyone know anything about Knolls Park or Veterans Park in Northport? Are those places where photos can be taken?
(sorry I live in Brooklyn and havent had a chance to venture out there yet)

I think you were looking at the wrong Vanderbilt website, i believe you were looking at the one in Hyde Park (upstate NY). Try going to vanderbiltmuseum.org for the one in Centerport, NY

i WAS looking at the wrong one! I contacted the correct one so hopefully they get back to me.
