We did it this way too, but we only used 1 song for the entire montage - G-d Blessed the Broken Road, by Rascal Flatts.
ETA: I meant to quote Katie&Chris. We alternated pics too from youngest to oldest, then did our couple pics
The only problem with this is that FH doesn't have a lot of pictures from hs and college as I do.
He has tons of pics when he was a baby, toddler, little kid, then barely any pictures of when he was a teenager and college. He said that he and his friends don't go around taking pictures together.
hmmmm I'm beginning to think this is the time in his life that he took a lot of pictures with his ex gf.
Hey, that sounds just like my issue and it stinks b/c it's making it harder to put the montage together. I tried asking his close relatives and/or long time friends. I would suggest that with you too. You never know, you may become lucky with this.

What do you think of the Grey's Anatomy song for the couple photo montage? I don't know if the lyrics are wedding-like enough.Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol
We'll do it all
Everything
On our own
We don't need
Anything
Or anyone
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world
I don't quite know
How to say
How I feel
Those three words,
are said too much
they're not enough
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

I am assuming you would be using this song for the pics of you together? I don't see anything wrong with it. I am not familiar with the song itself but the lyrics don't seem bad to me.

Re: Photo Montage Songs - childhood songs to grown up songs
I used 'My Wish' by Rascall Flatts for my sister's montage. It was her selection and the words are perfect.I hope the days come easy and the moments pass slow,
and each road leads you where you wanna go,
and if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose,
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you.
And if one door opens to another door closed,
I hope you keep on walkin' till you find the window,
if it's cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile.
But more than anything, more than anything...
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
your dreams stay big, your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
and while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.
I hope you never look back, but you never forget,
all the ones who love you, in the place you left,
I hope you always forgive, and you never regret,
and you help somebody every chance you get,
Oh, you find God's grace, in every mistake,
and always give more than you take.
But More than anything, yeah, more than anything...
Yeah.
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
your dreams stay big, your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
and while you're out there getting where you're getting to,

Yeah, this, is my wish.

My sister's FH didn't have nearly as many pictures as she did for his montage. We used 'The Power of Love' by Huey Lewis & the News (From Back to the Future soundtrack). It worked perfectly. It's a fun upbeat song and my sis and her FH really liked it.

Re: Photo Montage Songs - childhood songs to grown up songs
There is a great song by Kenny Chesney called Me and You. Here are the lyrics :Ordinary? No! I really don't think so,
Not a love this true.
Common destiny, we were meant to be, me and you.
Like a perfect scene from a movie screen,
We're a dream come true.
Suited perfectly, for eternity, me and you.
CHORUS:
Everyday, well I need you even more,
And the nighttime too.
There's no way, I could ever let you go.
Even if I wanted to.
Everyday I live, (I) try my best to give,
All I have to you.
Thank the stars above, that we share this love, me and you
CHORUS
Ordinary? No! I really don't think so,
Just a precious few.
Ever make it last, are as lucky as
me and you.
