Photo-Patken, Verdi, Duet, ADA?

I am making appts to go see these photographers, I know that most places can work with your budget I just want to have an idea of the prices before I go in their. Also any positives or negatives? I know their are alot of Patken brides here, when I did a search.

I am sure they all have their positives and negatives..........just go take a look and see.

What are you looking for in a photographer?
Budget, traditional vs photjournalistic# of photographers that day, amount of proofs, types of albums, casual day pics etc....each photographer will answer these differently so only you can say what you like.....don't like etc.................Good LucK..

I went to see Patken, Verdi and Duet (and a few more not listed) I LOVED Verdi's work, but they were out of my budget. Patken, I didn't like the 'feel' of the place. I thought their pics were ok, and their prices were in my budget. We booked Duet. Their work is great for the price, they're almost half the price I was quoted at Verdi. I don't remember exactly what we're paying, but we're getting a good sized photography package, and video from Duet for about $3k.

Official Duet Thread

Here is the Thread by Nora.

My fiancee went to see Patken , Duet, Imagine, Artisan, and Sherwood Triart.

We eneded booking Duet because I felt more comfortable with their approach to my needs. I also felt that they were more flexible on options and pricing. Even when we went into contract signing there were some things I had questions and about and we worked together to finalize a contract we could all agree on. I wanted everything in house so that if there was a problem or questions that the photographer wanted to ask the videographer or the videographer wanted to ask the editing crew you wouldn't have to play phone tag. I'm sure you get the idea. But feel free to ask anyone on the Thread and definitely FM or email me anytime. I have found the boards to be most helpful. I do the research and she goes out on the first run. After the choices are narrowed down then I go.

It ultimately comes down to how their work makes you feel about them and how comfortable you are if they were at your wedding.

Best Wishes,

Thomas

We only met with Verdi - based on the work they did for my sister's wedding...and various other reasons. They are definitely one of the pricier photographer's on here - mostly b/c they don't offer a 'package' per say, for what they charge. But their work and talent were worth it to us.

You really should meet with each of the photographer's you listed - get a feel for them in person, their work, what they offer and compare that way. Imagine is another photography studio that does some amazing work.

PS - beware of cheerleader's who haven't *actually* used the vendor yet...your best bet is to read reviews of those who have used these vendors for their wedding AND visiting them yourself.

Good luck!

I went with Marco Studios in Holbrook. I think they are across the street from Patken.

Marco is awesome!!!! He does great work. And I love the fact that you get two little mini albums to bring aroud with you!

Check them out!

I loved Verdi's work, but they were not in our price range, we went with patken, To be honest Im not 100 % thrilled with my pictures, its partly my fault because I did not give them a must have list, I wanted more black and whites and I didnt specify that, I just thought they would know, but I learend be VERY specific..I also wasnt too thrilled with some of the lighting in mnay of my pictures..I had thought I would expand my album by alot, and i really didnt because I didnt like so many pics..Patken has been wonderful to work with, they are very nice and very helpful, and they do a beautiful job if you are specific! They worked with our budget, I just wish I gave them a list. Also some of the poses that he had me do, I HATE, I hated doing it then and I should ahve said something, my chin is turned up and i look like a jackass..just be very specific! Good luck!
