Photo Payment Terms HELP!

Original post by wickedwedding16

Please let me know what your payment terms are with your photographer..or at least how they are broken down... you do not have to use your ACTUAL rates if you do not feel comfortable providing that information... as long as you're numbers provided are relative to the break down, that will help just fine...

My potential photog wants:
$1K immediately
Balance due ten days before the wedding

I ask because my FMIL is concerned that nothing is due on the day of so whats to say the photog will show up AND nothing is due when album is ready for pick up..

Are the payment terms above standard?
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

1/2 balance due 1 month before
Remaining balance due when we pick up the proofs

I had to leave a $200 deposit and then the rest is due the day of the wedding.

I had to pay a $700 deposit, then I owe him a LARGE chunk 60 days before the wedding. And then a smaller amount when I get my album, and then a smaller amount before I get my DVDs.

The largest amount is 60 days before the wedding. 4 payments

You should definitely not finalize unless your photog changes his/her terms. Be wise!!!!

Most of the money is due before the wedding, I think a week prior to the date. However there's a small balance (maybe $400?) due when we pick up the prints. I wouldn't feel comfortable paying them entirely until I got the prints.

I put $1000 down
$1946 is due before the wedding (like 60 days before I think?)
$500 due when I pick up the CD/prints

we had 500 down, and all but 300 due ten days before the wedding, the final 300 is due when we pick up our proofs
