Photo Question

We have started to look for a photographer and came across two different types of pictures. I would like to know what are the advantages and disadvantages of using a photographer who uses ony digital pictures? Also, I was informed that digital pictures don't look clear once there are blown up to a large size eg: 16x20 because on the specs. Is this true? But someone else told me that the turn around time for digital pictures are extremely quick as compare to the traditional way.

I would lkie my pictures back within reasonable amount of time but, I don't what to compromise the quality of the pictures..

Any comments?
