How much are you looking to spend? You're more likely to find a better price if you go with a company than individual.

Re: photog
We're only spending $1200.00. We're just getting photos on a disc at the end of our reception. We can make all the photos we want from that disc. We can get albums later if we want. We just didn't want to lay out all that $$$$$ prior to the wedding.

Re: photog
I really didn't think it was in the multiple thousands!!! I can't believe it. The lowest I've seen so far was $4500 and didn't include videography...
Is 8 hours the general time? I didn't think of that when I planned my times......

Re: photog
i have two photographers, one for 8 hours and one for 11 hours + all the digital negatives and a bunch of other stuff I forgot and it's like $4k
it would've been lower, but we are using the owner of the studio, who charges a little bit more.

Re: photog
We used Franklin Square Photography and I absolutely loved them. We used them for both photo and video. Keith was our photographer.
This is what we got: 2 photographers (1 reg, 1 photojournalist) 2 videographers everyone with us all day - got to my mom's at 2 (church was at 5:15), stayed until the end of reception
Photos: our album 2 parent albums proof album and cd with all pics pics in an online gallery all thank you cards (as many as we need) 1 16x24 portrait 2 8x10 portraits bride's brag book 2 other brag books or 5x7 for bridal party (still haven't decided which one we are picking yet) engagement pic
Video: 2 DVDs for us - one unedited, which has everything from the time the videographers arrived to the end of the reception, and edited (we chose the 60 min one - they also offer 30 min and 90 min) 2 DVD's, one for each set of parents
it was $8000 and it's worth every penny. we won't have our DVD for a few months, but I can't wait to see it. My brother used them for his wedding in 2007, so I knew they did a great job.

i'm looking at around 6200 for e-pics, online glalery & disk 10 hours, online gallery & disc our album, 2 parent albms and 2 photographers. and his prints are cheap, we figured we'd pick them out as we knew what we needed, and thank yous, once we decide what they are we'll take it from there

Re: photog
It was 4700 for photo and video from Patken. They were one my RH's preferred vendors, so I'm assuming there was a discount.
It included about 515 proofs, 1 album for us with 40 pictures. 2 parent albums. They were there for about 10 hours, I think. Three dvd's for the video.
