Photog Question

Photog Question

Hi Ladies,

How long do you really need the photographer to stay/how long are you having yours stay?

I'm asking because most of the packages I've seen include 10 hours of coverage. We'd need 12 to cover pre-ceremony getting ready through the entire reception. Do I really need them to stay the whole reception? Do I need them to come to my house at 1 if the ceremony is at 3?

Aaaah! Photographer has been the hardest thing to book because I'm just so overwhelmed by it! Any help would be great!

Thanks!

Re: Photog Question

we are only having them for 10 1/2 hours....but we are getting married at the RH so there is no gap between church and reception.

i think its def good to have them there before your ceremony for some getting ready shots, but you might not really need 2 full hours before

Re: Photog Question

From what I heard from photographers when I was researching them, most stay through the cake cutting and then leave. So you do not need them there the entire reception.

Ours is only for 10 hours but they will not start shooting till 1, since the ceremony is in the afternoon. I'm probably going to start my day at 9 but they don't need to be with me that early. Time out your day according to when your ceremony will start and have them come like two hours before that.

Ours is booked 'for the day' - he didn't say anything about # of hours, so I'm not sure...

That's what I've done, but that still has them leaving our reception at 11 and the reception isn't over till 1. Do you think that's a big deal?

My Photog stays the whole day, because he burns you a disc with all the photos he took at the end of the day. No limit on the hours that day.

I think it all depends on what you feel comfortable with. My reception ends at 11:30 and that means my photographer is leaving 30 minutes before we end and I'm fine with that. But if you think he will miss some important picture moments then you should work something out with him where he can stay a little longer. For your wedding, that is 2 hours that he will be missing but at that point all of your important and special shots will have been taken.

I am having mine for 12 hours, 12:30-12:30.

My ceremony starts at 2:30 and my reception ends at 12:30.

We're having the photog from the moment I start getting dressed to the end of the reception. It would probably be around 11 hours. You don't have to have the photog take pictures of you while you're getting your hair and make-up done. It's all really up to you.

Mine told me I have him for the whole day. I think he comes to my house at 1:30, my church is at 3, then he doesn't leave until the reception is over. He is not charging by the hour.

Mine is coming an hr and a half before I leave my house to go to the church and staying until a little after the cake cutting.

Our package is 8 hours long.
I really don't want the photographer to take pics of hair or make up I just want the final getting ready. our ceremony is 4 to 10:30 and I will be at the hall 3 to 10:30 which is PERFECT! :)

so exciting I can't wait

I TA... after that...not much else going on. I am having mine stay for 8.. MOst have pkgs for 6 hrs, but everyone usually ups it to 10 hrs. Which is better IMO.

I'm fairly positive that is my situation with Patken as well. I know Vinny is starting wayyyyyyyyyyy
early because we are doing pics before our ceremony. Our DJ (Phil from After Hours) will be doing ZAP shots, so should Vinny leave before it is all over, we won't miss a thing.
