i just had to post this... today i went to meet with willi wong the photographer... and i just cant say enough nice things about him... he is the nicest, most easy going guy i have ever met... i luv him i hope my fh says yes to book him. We spent about two hours there looking at pics!

ETA: ok so we are trying to figure out whether to book or not... do you think that 4500 is too much for photographer without any albums? we would rather get good photos and pay for the albums later than go cheaper so we can afford both at the same time. does anyone have any final opinions/comments about this photographer? as always any help is appreciated! thanx :)

I don't know much about this particular photographer, but I think if you love his work and really want him, book him and you can always add to your package later.
When FI and I started looking at photogs, I said to him that I wanted a really great one, that we get along with and one that we love each photo. I'd rather see most of my money go to something like photos, because in the end, this is all we're going to have to remember our day.
Book him if you love him and his work. Don't settle, you'll just be disappointed in the end. Good luck!

in all honesty, if I had the money I would hire him in a heartbeat. you are hiring him for his talent, albums you can think of that later on.

I saw his photos and I was SO impressed. I think it' so much more important to get the NEGATIVES perfect. You cna get the albums whenever, but if you don't have the negatives you want, you can get the album done as soon, or as expensively as you want, and it won't compensate for a lower quality photograph!

For me $4500 with out albums is way to expensive, but if you have the money go for it.
Did you look into Verdi? They are about $4500 but, you get an album. My cousin and my Fh boss used them,and their albums are amazing!!!!!!!
Photography is important, so go with who you like.

I've heard great things about Willie Wong but IMO for $4500 there are better photographers. Something in Blue is a husband and wife team that is very artistic. Have you checked them out? There are many others in that range.
BUT If you like him, I don't think that is too much for paying for just a photographer. We were thinking of scrapping video to hire Tim Lee, who is around $7k. Our is $3500 just for their services. Photographers in this price range are a different ballgame and I do truly believe that you get your moneys worth. Willie Wong does have a very strong and great reputation and I don't think you will be disappointed!

His work is amazing, and coming from me $4500 is so worth it!
I'm paying $1500 for my photographer w/out albums...I'd rather choose later down the line.
I've seen his work numerous times from profiles on theknot.com and I considered him, but I can't afford him.
I will live vicariously through you!

forget the albums- you can do those whenever you want. I am paying my photog to take pics and give me the negatives...I am spending my photo budget completely on their work- we can do the albums anytime down the line, but like most girls said, if your not AS hot about the photos, getting them in album will not fix that for you!
Go with your feelings on the photos themselves!

I went with Glenmar Studios sinceI know their work my friend h ad them do her wedding and I am getting the same photographer cuz he was amazing I think the basic price range for photographers are in the mid to high $3,000 and up at least the ones I had seen and I went to quite a few so if YOU think its worth it then go for it
