Would people mind posting what they're paying for their photographer and exactly what that includes. My FH's friend is doing our photography for 5,400 and that includes our album, the owner of the studio, an assistant, and a B&W photographer. I think that's really reasonable but my mom thinks it should be including parent albums as well, and now I don't know if we got a good deal.

Mine is almost six thousand but it includes the main album, parent albums, 5X7's, 8 X 10's all the proofs on CD, 100 upgraded thank you cards.and 2 photographers for 10 hours.

i think thats a bit much.. how long is the day are you paying overtime.
how many proofs are you getting, is it digital or not??
what else are you getting in your package???

I am paying that much with out parents albums as well; however, this includes video and three DVD'd, and the screens for video montage. I would keep shopping...it doesn't hurt.

My Package for $2,499.00 (including tax)
9 hrs wedding coverage Minimum of 500 proofs guaranteed- he told us to expect closer to 800. 2 photographers (including the owner)- and probably an assistant also leather bound 50 image 10x12 album 2 leather bound 4x5 parent albums with 24 images 75 thank yous with wallet picture DVD with all pictures
They will take as many B&W and Color images as we would like, we just need to indicate how much B& W we would want on that day. Plus they can make anything B&W, Sepia or color once the shots are taken.

I'm paying $3800 for a straight 'shoot & proof'. With that I'm getting 2 photographers, engagement photos, a high res CD of all my proofs and pictage service. *All albums are a seperate cost after the wedding.*
Did he say how much he'd charge for the parents albums to be included?

I am paying a few hundred less than that and it includes the parent's albums and coffee table books, and small book that can easily be carried in your bag.

I think that is a little high...if you like the photographer try to negotiate for parent albums and maybe some enlargements. otherwise keep shopping.

We are paying $4345 (including tax) for both the photographer and videographer (I don't know how much each one came out to individually). We are getting a bridal album, 2 parent albums, 1-16x20, 2-8x10's, 5-5x7's, 100 thank you's, proofs, and 3 DVD's of the video coverage.
I think that your quote was a little high. Maybe you can ask them if they can either through in the parent albums, or at least do 2 for the price of one (especially since you know the owner). If you get the proofs (which you definitely should), you can even make your own parent albums if they do end up saying that you have to pay for them.

Hi Laur, This photography crap is expensive! I'll take your pics, you take mine? I would like 2 parent albums, posed and candids (b&w) and a mix of digital and film. Whip it up for me and i'll reciprocate or pay you with cheese and Starbucks. Mucho gratz

ha! i thought i 'found' your first---then i saw you already replied to me!!! anyway, you know i'll be the stand-in photographer for your wedding anyway, so feel free to put in whatever requests you want and i'll be sure to deliver!!!!! and if you want, eric will bring the digital camcorder or whatever the hell it's called and we'll do your video-----can't promise the best editing on that though :)

Wow! I can't believe how much you guys are paying. My photographer is only charging me $1,600 and that's for two photographers, an album, two smaller parents albums, pics on CD, proofs, 10 8x14s and a third person making prints for the guests as party favors the day of. I met with her and saw her stuff as well her on line galleries and her work looks as good as anything. No offense but I think you're paying way too much.
