Re: photographer
Yes when you first arrive they will put some books out infront of you and show you their different work
Some places will show you the styles of different photographers that they have. EX: Patken has different types of photogs. one is edgy/sexy, other is traditional, ect.
When you look at the boooks you show them the style that you like...know what you like before Know what type of album you want, know if you want a photo journalist...how many photographers you want.
velvet you get two photographers. one regular and one photo journalist. I like this because they capture two different things.
It is pretty easy once you know what you want because then it comes down to price.

Re: photographer
Velvet they have different photograhpers but the main one is Bob and it is his business.
Remeber that when you decide what company you are going with...you want the specific photographer and make sure that they put that on your contract. Also see if you can meet with the photographer first....very often they do this now.
You want to see if you and the photographer have a comfortable chemistry. This is why you take engagement pics. I know that Patken and Velvet you dont have to book just to have an engagement shoot. They recommend the engagement shoot so that you can see their photographer in action. You get a few pics free or you can pay $80 and get a whole bunch printed and get a cd.
Velvet Bob will book your shoot with you after you sign your contract. But the pics are free.
So many different ways to go
I hope this helps a bit

Re: photographer
well as you have looked through pics on this site have you looked at peoples albums? Have you looked at Camachos Velvet album? Or MrsBraggs patken album? Those are storybook albums. They tell the story of the day from beginning to end. It is a digitally comprised album.
What is nice about a digital album is that the company will send it to you by email so that you can view it before it goes to print so that you can change things to the way that you like them. You may want to add phrases, or your names.

Re: photographer
Bob at Velvet does both traditional and new trend pics
Traditional: parent and family pics, table pics
Trends: maybe running through a field or walking away from the camera, shadow pics.

Re: photographer
Go see Jovan and Patken. I feel like they were the best. You can go to their websites too before you go. You just want someone who has a good reputation. There are few out there to stay away from. My friend is in the business and he has seen and heard horror stories. So FM me if you want to know more.
