Does it matter if our photographer has only been in the business for a few years? He is fairly young (early 20's). Do you think we should be choosing someone who has been in the business longer? Is it too risky to get someone who is just starting out?

Re: photographer??
i think it depends if you know someone or reviews of people who have used his services, that should be a big deciding factor.

Re: photographer??
Well, no one can tell you that for sure, we have not seen his work afterall... but if you have some reservations.. then you should weigh the pros and cons. What are the reasons you would hire him? and what makes you uneasy about his age? What is his training in photography, and how many weddings has he done already.. can you contact former clients? Does he work alone or does he have a partner? If he suddenly is unavailable on your day due to illness or accident.. who would he send in replace? Is he experienced enough to know the must-take photos that are extremely important to Brides? (don't laugh.. I was at a wedding where the photog did not get a shot of the bride walking down the aisle with her parents!! luckily for her.. I took one from my seat, and it's the only shot she has of the 3 of them walking down the aisle)

Re: photographer??
MANY photographers i LOVED were in their 20's including mine and she has a GREAT reputation. I used Angelica glass, www.angelicaglass.com
I liked her better than a lot of ppl who are in business 20-30 years, more edgy, modern artistic feel that i was going for
theres a few others i love their work and same thing they are young and amazing talent
but at the same time there are probably some more new who arent that great, just look at their work and decide for yourself

Re: photographer??
I don't think that should matter at all but what does matter is their passion for photography. My photography is young and I love that about him. If you really like the photographer you should give him a shot. The whole age thing shouldn't be a turn off plus a lot of them have a really fresh take on the industry and take great pictures

My photographer has only been photographing weddings for a couple years and they've only been an official business since 2008. I still love them and can't wait for them to photograph our wedding!
It depends if you like their work thats all that matters.

I totally agree. We have the same photographer and there work is amazing. Just because they have only been in business for a short time doesn't mean that they aren't talented. I think sometimes the greatest work come from younger people because they tend to want to break the tradition and be more creative (JMO). I am using J'adore Love Photography and I think Efrain and Jenn's work is nothing short of amazing. I posted a few pics in my album. If you like their work I say go for it. You can also just go and take engagement pictures with them to test out the work. That is usually a good indicator
