Photographer and setting up pics
When should you start looking for your photographer? Did you take your engagement photos with them? Is that part of the package or separate? If anyone has quotes they would be appreciated!

Photographer and setting up pics
We booked our photographer more than two years out. But we're crazy lol. We wanted to make sure we got who we wanted and weren't dissapointed when they were booked for our date. We did our engagement shoot, it wasn't part of our package but we added it on. I highly recommend it, it was a great way to get to know our photographer and for him to get to know us before the big day. You have fm with quotes for lighthouse and capture the moment :)

Photographer and setting up pics
We decided to test out our photographer by doing our engagement shoot with them. When we got the pics back we loved them so we decided to book the photographer for our wedding. Our wedding is a year & 7 months away. I think it's never too early to start looking

Photographer was one of the first vendors we booked, about 1.5 years out. Most places we looked at included an engagement shoot as part of the package. One would only shoot them in their studio and charged a $$$ fee if we wanted to do it someplace else. Another had 2 locations to choose from for our engagement shoot. Ours let us do it basically anywhere in Suffolk, Nassau, queens, Brooklyn, manhattan...etc. Engagement shoot was nice because 1. You can get a sense of the photographers style and make sure it matches with yours 2. To get a sense of their personality and, again, make sure it matches with yours and 3. To make sure you like their work! I think the shoot is important.Shop around. Look at who is recommended. Go over prices and look at contracts carefully. When it comes time to sign, mAke sure everything you want is in the contract.

We booked ours about a month after we got engaged. The good ones book rather quickly! It's so worth it...those pictures will be with you forever!

We booked our photographer about a year and half in advance. It probably wasn’t necessary to do it that far ahead of time, but we knew which photographer we wanted and we’re getting married on a holiday weekend so we wanted to make sure they didn’t get booked. As far I know most photographers offer an engagement shoot as part of their package. But different photographers offer different things. My photographer let us choose the location for the shoot and gave us a flash drive with a ton of images. Other photographers do a shoot in their studio and give you a few prints, so it really just depends on what you are looking for. Either way I agree that it’s a good idea to do one so that you can meet your photographer, get comfortable in front of the camera, etc.

Re: Photographer and setting up pics
Our photographer didn't include the engagement shoot, but the others we met with did. We didn't have him take mine because we needed them done really quickly and have two dogs than can be a big pain in the butt so I didn't want to put him through that because I really wanted them in some pictures. BUT If the photographer you go with doesn't include the e-shoot and you can budget it in, I definitely think it's a good decision because you'll get to work with each other before your wedding day and will make the pictures that day run smoother and that much better!Welcome New Vendors
